Victims of crime.

No doubt many of you will remember the Murder of Kelly Hitch**** & her unborn child in 1992.at he home in Union street, Kelly was my niece, her mother & sister were also attacked. The killer served 8 years in Broadmoor,& a hostel, in Hampshire we were informed last year by he police that he was to be released probably by the end of the year, but that we would be kept informed, as yet we have heard nothing, although it is pretty certain that he is now free, personally i have rung the police a few times to see if they can tell us anything only to be put through to an anwer machine & never had my calls returned, various other members of the family have had the same. Obviously my sister & her daughters in fact all the family are very concerned, as he always said he would finish what he started, my sister has been unable to work since this happened & has been diagnosed with post traumatic stress. In my opinion the police are not keeping their promise, how long does my sister have to keep looking over her shoulder & worrying if a strange car spends too much time outside her block of flats. Has any one any ideas on this subject, personally i think he should have been put away for life & the sooner the new law proposed comes into force the better.

hi scatty,
I remember this well.....its hard to believe it was that long ago,I would imagine for you and your family it is still very painful.

I know nothing about the system but if this man has threatened"to finish what he started" as you said then surely its in the polices interests to keep kellys immediate family informed as to what is happening?
i send your sister all best wishes it must be very tramatic for her.

Thank you chicken i will pass your wishes on to my sister, yes it is still with us all every day, we talk to her & about her all the time.
We were to;d by the police they would keep us informed but nothing, when we had the meeting at my sisters home over a year ago now with Gary Porter he seemed more concerned about his men than the family, & nothing since we did see him in town last summer & he said again he would keep us posted but that's all. At the moment we are depending on a member of the family that knows Steve Clarkes family to find anything out for us it's the only way we can do it now. Makes you think thouh doesn't it?

It makes me sick that you can get 8 years for taking life but you'll get 25 for robbing a bank.

Shows you where the governments priorities lie doesn't it, money over people any day.

My sympathies to your family, anyway.
