police late again

My sister & i went to the forresters arms this lunch time & sat outside having our drinks, when we heard the roar of a motorbike & a sudden bang, the bike had hit a car, we saw Bike, & rider fly in the air, i won't go into details, but what i want to know is, why did it take the police so long to get there, by the time they did lads had picked up what remained of the Bike loaded it on to a 4x4 & took it away,by the time the police got there there was really no sign an accident had happened except for the ambulance still there, the car driver had parked his car at the back of the pub, & we found out later had disapeared, the police went into the pub, we waited as we thought we would surely be needed, but not so they wandered around picked up a small piece of the bike that remained & left. What puzzles us we were the only people outside to see what happened, yet we weren't approached, & the time it took the police to get there, no doubt there will be an appeal for witnesses later on but surely it would have been better to interview while it was still fresh in or memories. What do others think/
