I've bought a few instruments from him, yeah.

And he's such a nice bloke that I decided to buy all my peripherals from him too.

Melksham needs a music shop!

There's a lot of musicians here who I'm sure get fed up with travelling to Trowbridge, Bath, Bristol for small things.

There;'s one particular shop in Trowbridge that does my head in. You have to wait for the staff to finish their chat and their fags before they serve you. Mark's is quite good, and it seems to be fairly busy most of the time.

On the subject of parking, was everyone aware that the aqualeisure car park was actually a private car park. After parking there yesterday for a maximun of 3 minutes to collect my chinese (which I had pre-ordered), I came back to find my car clamped. The 'lovely' clamper explained that there had been signs placed for over a week, over the original sign with 'customer parking' still visible in big red letters. After explaining that they would have to wait for half an hour for me to borrow a huge £95 to release my car, he threatened to have my car towed at £295. Only when a family member arrived with the money did he cancel the tow truck.Although the whole episode only lasted about 20 minutes, in that time, 3 other cars had been clamped, and one towed away, as she was away from her car for longer than 1 hour. the police are aware of the situation, and are apparently happy with the way they have been working.

That's good to know sonic, hope he does well
Melksham needs something other than the usual takeaways estate agents etc.

Just a thought but did we really need another pet food shop?

The police can't do much about it as it's a private car park and the owners can do what they want.

Yeah.

The police got called down there yesterday... my boyfriend works in Blockbusters see and after seeing them clamp one poor old guy who had just got out of his car then charging him £95, he started warning people not to get out of their cars.

The clampers got fairly annoyed about it (even though the warning signs are quite small apparently) and started threatening him, the cops came down and told the clampers to go away... twas 8 pm after all.

Any suggestions as to what would improve the town centre? Wasn't it proposed years ago to pedestrianise it? Also there are going to be changes to the Market Place which could boost the town.

Most rural town centres are dying, probably because of misguided folks and greed in accepting "deals" from the big guys who want to build big "edge of town" shopping sites.
Even the schools are being stuck on the edge of town......viz Chippenham, and they want Melksham to have a new school way out at Woolmore Farm on the Devizes road.
What about the kids from the other side of town?
Same old story no one listens to Joe Public...and money talks and changes the strongest of minds! $$$$$£££££ Dosh Sir! Oh! Yes Sir we would love that new plan to go through...........
