It would be great if we had something like that in Melksham, I guess it'll become a warehouse or something like that...keep your ears to the ground people!

Let's keep quiet about the empty Kwik Save premises ... the government may see this as a potential location for a new casino - that seems to be their new crazy "benefit" for our country. First they bring in 24 hour drinking then encourage gambling but just to keep us all safe, smoking is banned!!!! Do not understand any of their logic!!!! (ps I am a non-smoker)

Ivor - I'm not sure what you mean. The only carpark that you have to pay for in the town centre (for less than an hour) is the one on Union Street.

Personally I believe it's really important to shop in the town centre or all the shops will disapear. It's up to us as local residents to support our shops and avoid doing all our shopping in big supermarkets.

I know sometimes it's a hassle but it is the only way we can keep our town alive. Melksham has the potential to be a great place.

Hi Pixelcat,
My original post on this thread was more than a year ago, and that is why perhaps it made no sense to you.
You see, this board is so powerful that the council took fright and adopted the idea of 1 hour free parking after I posted the idea.
Up to that point the central car park did not have the free parking. emoticon
