“Yeaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!” Chival roared as he jerked the wheel and ripped the Focus out from under the semi.
The land was a vast scape of sagebrush and canyons.
“We must be in Oregon by now.” Kitty said.
The car sputtered then came to a halt, Chival pulled off to the emergency shoulder.
“Damn!” He said and popped the hood.
Chival looked at the engine with a puzzled expression.
“What’s this? Where are the reactor chambers? What source of power does this vehicle run on?”
Chival touched a damp spot near the intake valve. “Gasoline?” He said.
“Dos! What sort of thing is this?” He glared at Kitty.
“It’s out of gas.” Kitty said as she walked to him. “It needs fuel to run.”
“Fuel?” Chival said. “I asked for an older vehicle, but you took that to an extreme.”
Mr. Reynolds scrambled form the car. “Mommy!! Bwaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!” He raised his arms in the air and took off running back to Idaho down the freeway. Chival moved to go after him, Kitty grabbed his tanktop.
“He’s harmless, let him go.” She said.
“Fine.” Chival said. “But we need to find fuel or get a different vehicle.”
The five cop cars encircled the Focus. Kitty yelped and dove for cover. Chival turned to face the police.
The police opened the doors and pulled out their guns, using the doors as shields as they faced Chival.
“Get on the ground!” A tall cop with curly hair yelled.

“You first.” Chival said.
“Guy’s nuts!” A husky balding cop said.
Two of the cops slowly moved to the car. One tried to put Chival in a headlock, Chival moved listlessly to one side. The cops raised their guns. Chival pulled the cop in front of him. “Don’t shoot!!” The cop put his hands in front of him.
The other officer ran behind Chival. Chival kicked his leg straight up and behind his shoulder, whacking the officer right between the eyes. The policeman covered his nose as it exploded with the crimson color of blood. Chival then grabbed the officer in front of him and flipped him on his back as the remaining three officers moved in to tackle him.
“Yeah! Come on!” Chival grinned as he grabbed a gun from one officer, while kicking another in the chest. Then he pistol whipped the remaining officer. A helicopter thundered over head.
“This is Cynthia Torrel with channel two news. What you are witnessing is a car chase turned into a violent conflict. This unknown teenager has apparently hijacked one of the Nampa School District’s Driver’s Ed vehicles and he is know combating police as they try to subdue him. He also held hostage Mr. Carl Reynolds, a teacher at Skyview High School of Nampa and Kitty Daniels a Driver’s Ed student at Skyview. Both were traveling with Ben Harrison, also a student of Skyview who has been missing since this unknown young man stole the vehicle.”
“Interesting.” A young man with spiky hair, sideburns and goatee said as he gulped a cold beer. “Skyview, eh?” He smirked. “Kids go to my school.”
At another home, a woman is watching the television. “Ben!! Oh no!!” She picks up the phone and dials the school. “Is Mr. Harrison there? Yes!! Yes the news!! He’s missing! Our son’s missing!!”
The kids at Skyview turned on the televisions in there classrooms.
“Teddy! Check it out!” Rick a tall jock with bleached hair said.
“Ben’s missing huh?” Teddy said. “Heh heh, well that’s one last thing to worry about!”

Chival grabbed the remaining officer by the collar. “Tell whoever you’re working for, that the Double Zero blue prints have been destroyed! After the war, the Mechas will be decommissioned! I won’t give them to you!! They will be used for peace! And justice! And if you ever even think about tearing down those values…” Chival threw the cop into the dirt.
“I’ll kill every last one of you.” Chival sneered.
“S..so..strong. How is this boy…so strong?” The cop scrambled backwards and ran to his car. He got onto the radio. “We have a terrorist situation! Send the FBI, National Guard, hell anyone!! This boy’s talking about war!! He’s crazy!!”
‘When the music began playing…’ Kitty thought as she got to her feet. ‘That’s when he appeared…’
She stepped into the Focus. “Simple Communicate” was still blaring through the speakers. ‘I have to make him stop. He’s going to kill Ben! How can I..’ She saw the tape in the deck. ‘That’s it! I must turn off the music!’ Kitty pushed the eject button and pulled out the tape.
“I’ll kill you…kill…” Chival fell over. He transformed back into Ben.
Kitty ran to him and helped him up. “Are you alright?” She said.
“Wha…where am I?” Ben’s face turned green. “Oh…man… Blarrgghh!!” He puked on the pavement.
“Eww.” Kitty said.
“Geez it’s not my fault, I just got sick!” Ben said. “I’m fine now! Oh…” His face turned green again. Then, Ben fell over.
“Ben? Ben!!” Kitty shook him.
“Is everyone okay?” A paramedic ran to Ben and Kitty from an Ambulance that had arrived during the confusion.
“I think so.” Kitty said, staring at Ben.
The paramedic checked Ben’s pulse. “He’s alright, just in a little shock from all the excitement.”
“Where’s the terrorist?” The policeman asked as he walked to Kitty.
“He’s not…” Kitty looked at Ben and smiled. “He got away.” She laughed. “He got away!!”

The paramedic placed Ben on the gurney table. Ben smiled at Kitty.
“That…was so..awesome!!” She smiled at him.
“Huh?” He said. “Thanks for helping me Kitty.” He took her hand. She gasped in shock then smiled. “You made me feel so…brave..”
Kitty smiled and squeezed Ben’s hand then let it go as they pushed him into the ambulance.
“You are an excellent driver!” She laughed and waved at him as they closed the doors.
“Ja-ne!!” She said. “That’s Japanese for see you later!!” She smiled and got into the police car.
Ben walked out of the hospital, Kitty, her dad and Ben’s parents waited for him.
“Hi!!” Kitty waved. She ran to Ben.
“Have you seen the news?” She asked.
“No.” Ben said. “I slept a ton, missed out I guess.” He smirked.
“They say that you beat up the terrorist and scared him so bad that he took of! You’re a hero!!” Kitty grinned.
“I..don’t remember it..” Ben said.
“Shh..” Kitty whispered. “We’ll keep your abilities as our secret okay?” She said.
“Ben?” Coach Harrison said.
“Yes father?” He asked.
“That was very…Chivalrous of you. I am..proud.” Coach messed Ben’s hair.
“Thanks, Dad.” Ben grinned.
On that day, I learned a whole lot about myself and about other people too. It’s funny, I learned more about myself while walking in another’s shoes. But the outside perspective is usually the most accurate one. Kitty and I made a pact to never ever tell anyone about my powers and we also made a pact to be best friends forever….

CHAPTER TWO: THE WARRIOR WITHIN
“Who are you? What do you want to be? Where do you come from? Where are you going? These are the four most important questions in life. For a long time, I didn’t know how to answer them; I still don’t.
My name’s Ben Harrison. I’ve tried my whole life to just be normal, I can’t do that anymore. Because yesterday I learned that normal doesn’t exist. It doesn’t even matter. See, I have this strange power, I can’t even tell you. If I did, you wouldn’t believe me anyway….
“Please!! I….I just don’t have the money!!” A middle-aged man said.
“Then your life, is over.” A tall bald kid with teardrop tattoos under his right eye said.
He nodded to two other thugs who placed the gleaming blades of machetes on either side of the middle-aged man’s head.
“Nooo!!” The man cried. “Please God! No!!!” Thunder cracked and the machetes swiped through the man’s neck.
“Awahh!!” He cried as lightning filled the sky and the dusty streets mottled with rain.
Ben walked to Skyview High’s front entrance.
“Oh man…” He grimaced. “OH MAN!!!” He muttered as all the kids stared at him, stopping in mid step. “Everyone heard about yesterday….this is so embarrassing!”
“Hi Ben!!” A pretty girl waved at him.
Ben giggled and waved his hand slowly, then he stopped and.. “Bwaaahhh!!” Ben shrieked and bolted through the front doors.
“So…” The bald kid with the teardrop tattoos said inside Skyview as he grabbed Kitty’s arm. “Hear you have quite the Hero of a boyfriend.”
“He’s not my boyfriend!! Let go of me Lucas, you perv!!” Kitty said.
Lucas pulled her close and kissed her.
“What the…” Ben said aloud as he saw the events taking place.
“Ben!!!” Kitty said. “Stay out of this!!” She begged.

“Yeah Ben!” One of Lucas’ friends mocked. “Stay out of this.”
Lucas grabbed Kitty’s chest.
“Get off me!!” Kitty said with a failing attempt to shove him back.
‘Hope this works.’ Ben said as he put on his headphones and played ‘Simple Communicate’ on his C.D. player. Ben ran around a corner near the staris.
“The pussy’s runnin’ away!” One of Lucas’ friends said.
Kitty punched Lucas.
“You *****!!” He growled and raised his fist. Kitty flinched, and closed her eyes. Lucas reeled forward and…stopped.
“G…guuuhhh.” Lucas muttered.
Chival was grabbing onto Lucas fist, standing just in front of Kitty.
“Five against one?” Chival said. “Hardly fair.”
“The…the terrorist from yesterday…how did you..?” Lucas said through clenched teeth.
“Allow me to even the odds.” Chival sneered and squeezed Lucas’ fist. It popped and then twisted with several sickening cracks.
“Bwaaaauuuhhhh!!!” Lucas shrieked in pain.
Chival threw Lucas on the ground.
“Get out of my sight, you worthless insect.” Chival said casually and flicked the bangs out of his eyes with his thumb.
Lucas scrambled backwards then he and his friends fled, screaming like little girls.
“Let’s get out of here!!” One of them said as they ran down the hall.
The kid with the sideburns and spiky hair threw a crumpled beer can into the trashcan. Drinking at school was his most favorite subject. He folded his arms.

“Whaddya know?” He said. “Ben can turn into an Anime character by using the music of the show.” He continued to no one and adjusted his kung fu shoes then tightened his arm wraps. “To fight somebody who has the magical abilities of Anime.” The kid smirked and glared at the same time with his gray green eyes. “Would truly be a fight indeed.”
Kitty knocked the C.D. player form Chival’s arms. “What are you doing?” She said and grabbed Chival by the ear, leading him to the corner by the stairs.
He turned back into Ben.
“I wanted to help you.” Ben said, looking at the floor, his face turning a sickly green.
“Come on, before somebody notices!” She said and drug him down the hall.
The spiky haired kid smirked again and walked down the stairs.
“I’m completely crazy.” Ben said to nobody as he washed his face in the bathroom. “Nuts! Insane!!! Completely off the deep end!” Ben wailed. “None of the can be real! I’m hallucinating! That explains all of it! Man! I need a doctor!! Lock me up and throw away the key!” Ben started banging his head on the sink.
A toilet flushed on one of the stalls.
“Oh no! My secret’s been exposed! They’ll commit me!! It’s gone! My entire life is over!! I’m a complete whack job!” Ben bawled.
A guy with long brown hair washed his hands in the sink.
“You talk to yourself all the time?” He asked Ben.
“Er…maybe…” Ben shrugged.
“Oh, well in that case..” He said.
Ben grinned.
“You really are nuts!!” The guy smirked and walked out.
“See? SEE! It’s over!!” Ben raised his hands in the air. “Nooooo!!” He cried to the sky.
“Er….Ben….” Kitty called as Ben walked out of the bathroom.

“Were you alright in there?” She asked.
“Uh….yah…” Ben furrowed his eyebrows.
“You’re not sick again are you?” She worried.
“Yeah…sick in the head!!” He said.
At lunch, Kitty and Ben sat at a table. Ben opened a newspaper. The headline read “Man Slain In Nampa.”
“What’s this?” Ben said.
He read the paper aloud. “A man’s headless corpse was found early this morning near the 400 block of 2nd Street North, Nampa early this morning. The body has not yet been identified. Investigators believe this to be yet another link in a chain of gang related crimes occurring in the Canyon County area.”
“Wow.” Kitty said.
“They’re probably here..watching us right now!!” Ben glanced around then threw up his hands. “Bwahh!!” He cried,
His bowl of spaghetti flew up and then fell onto his head.
“Waaaa ha ha ha ha ha!!” Kitty howled with glee.
“Oh yeah, just rub it in.” Ben pursed his lips under the bowl of spaghetti. “Mmmm…sauce.” He licked the bowl.
Lucas and his thugs stared at Ben through a big picture window from outside. Lucas was grabbing a little blonde headed kid by the collar.
“So…” Lucas sneered. “He is, are you sure?”
“Yeah…yes, I saw him!!” The kid stammered. “I saw him turn into that guy from the news!” The kid blurted.
“That’s interesting.” Lucas laughed and threw the little kid down.
“Pedro.” Lucas barked.
“Yeah, Homes?” Pedro asked.
