Leaping back to her feet, Nick spat out the mouth full of sand she had gained from her fall. Her fin like ears flattened angrily under her bright red hair, where no one could see them. She brushed off her tattered pants and shredded shirt. “I’ve got sand in places I didn’t even know I had.” She muttered angrily and straightened up. She towered over most of the dry landers there, in fact, the only one she didn’t dwarf was Jacen. She frowned as she heard one of the comments about her lineage, and glared at one of the men that was unashamedly staring at her with wide eyes and an open mouth.
Hearing some of the other whispers about the crew she was traveling with, it occurred to her that she did not know what any of the dry landers were talking about. ‘Three swords?’ She thought to herself and snorted derisively. ‘What kind of idiot would fight with three swords?’ She shook her head as she walked up on the dock and toward Lougetown. (sp?) ‘More importantly, where would he hold it?’ The thought amused Nick, but she kept her laughter in check.
People were staring at her as if she had two heads, and it was beginning to grate on her nerves. ‘The next person that tries to touch me is going to find themselves in a whole new world of pain.’ She grumbled to herself, unhappily. Maybe it was the fact that she was still walking as if she were on a ship, trying to compensate for the pitch of the sea, that was no longer beneath her. Nick turned around and gazed longingly at the ocean’s waves. As she turned around, someone ran smack into her.
“Oh! I’m so sorry!” It was a little boy, maybe ten years old. “Beg your pardon ma’am.” He said and tried to run away.
“Hold it!” Nick reached her long hand out and grabbed the boy by the wrist. “My coin purse, if you please.” She growled, angry that it was a child and not an adult so that she could lay him out on the dirt road.
“Is this yours?” The boy asked in mock surprise as she pulled Nick’s blue scaled coin purse out of one of his many pockets.
“Aye lad, and you’d best give it back if you want to continue breathing much longer.” Nick fumed.
“Uuuh…no.” The boy smirked and tried to kick Nick’s shin.
Nick negligently flipped the boy upside down and gripped his ankles in one of her hands. With the other, she retrieved her purse. “Now get out of here before I get mad.” Nick dropped the youth on his head and continued on, keeping a tight hold on her purse the whole time. “Cut purses and street urchins. I hate dry landers.” She sighed and kept walking with no destination and not really caring, as long as she could get back to the ship by night fall.

Maxi let everyone go before him, stating that he wanted to check up on Ryojiro.
He went into the cabin. Ryojiro was still bandaged up. He was alive, but still in a coma. "Well old friend, we've arrived at Lougetown, so we'll be able to find you a doctor. Then maybe we can get you back on your feet... Don't worry buddy, I'll get a doctor for you."
He left the ship and proceeded to bring a doctor to the Going Merry Go. Lougetown was a bustling city. If Ryojiro was in good health, they could have all sorts of fun... Hitting bars and flirting with the women. The pirates' life can be quite rewarding. But responsibility rears its ugly head sometimes...
After some searching, he finally came across a house that said "Doctor Jehosephett."
"Well, I'm sure he's as good as any..." Maxi said to himself. He walked in and found an old desk with a tiny stool behind. At the end of the room was a hallway that led to a closed door where he heard something like metal clangin and cackling. "Uh-oh, maybe I stepped into the wrong place..." Maxi said to himself quietly. Just then the door at the end of the hallway burst open. A tiny gnomish man standing at most 4'10 with a long white beard and balding head ran towards Maxi. He wore some torn up brown scrubs with a giant refletor on the top of this head and tiny goggles on his eyes. He stopped dead in his tracks about 2 inches from Maxi. He started rubbing his beard and leaned towards Maxi, humming to himself intently.
"Wh-what the hell are you doing?!" inquired Maxi.
"Shut up!!" the tiny man squeaked. He grabbed Maxi's wrist and checked his pulse.
"OW! What are you trying to do, cut off my blood flow?!"
The tiny man let go of Maxi's hand and then looked up at his head, then down at his feet. In a high pitched shrill voice, he said "There's nothing wrong with you, go away!"
He ran back into the room and slammed the door shut.
"Hey, wait up!!" yelled Maxi. He ran to the door and tried to open it, but it was locked. "Okay, okay, look, if you just listen to me, you'll find out that my friend is in really bad shape and needs to be helped! He's on a ship docked at the harbor, and-"
The door suddenly opened and the tiny man ran right past Maxi carrying a huge bag on his back shouting "No time to waste, your friend must be helped!"
"Hey, wait, you don't even know which ship he's on!" The tiny man was already out the door before he even started his sentence.
"How can such a little man be so fast?" He ran out the door and didn't see him anywhere. Just then, the tiny man jumped on Maxi's back. His bag was so heavy, Maxi nearly fell backward. "No time to waste, you friend must be helped!" the tiny man squeaked.
After regaining his balance, Maxi said "You already said that!"
"My name is Doctor Jehosephett, now take me to your ship!"
Maxi grimaced. "Alright then, you quack..."

Jacen continued to walk as people gawked at him and his mates.
"Lougetown is the trading capitol of the East Sea....I would hope they've got a few supplies for the taking." Jacen strolled down the street.
"Stop!" A girl's voice cried out. "Please stop it!!! Leave him alone." She muttered. There was a baying noise of a goat.
"What the?" Jacen pondered. He tried to push through the people, they wouldn't budge. Jacen leaped high in the air and ran across two buildings he landed in a circle of men, next to a little girl with blue buns in her hair and a huge pink goat.
"What's all this here?" Jacen asked the men, armed with cudgels, daggers and pitchforks.
"Thwartin' goat ate all me crops." One man said.
"An' he terrorized them younglings back at the school." Another growled.
"He's to be put asleep." Said a fourth.
"Aye an' we ain't hearin' the pleas of no one, much less a young lass like her." A pudgy seaman pointed at the girl.
"I see." Jacen said.
"Is this true, girl?" He bent down and asked the blue haired child.
"He was so scared, he gets that way when exciting things happen, he was so scared...my Oni-Chan.." The tiny girl lowered her head.
Jacen's eyes widened. 'She just called this goat...OniChan? She cares for this goat, like Sakura cared for me? No! These men are wrong, I cannot let them destroy him!'
"Put down your arms gentlemen, and I will build a fenced yard and trough for the goat. He will have a home and wander no more." Jacen nodded a sharp bow.
"That ain't gonna fix the damage he's already done." The apparent leader with a squid for a hat said. "Kill 'em." He ordered.
The men moved in from all sides. Jacen thrust his huge sword under the goat. "Hop on." He said to the girl.
"Hai!" she said sharply and mounted the goat. With a sharp grunt, Jacen launched them high into the air, he beckoned the winds with his hand and it blew them onto a rooftop. Jacen leaped high into the air and slammed his sword into the dirt, it shook the ground and rocks and cracks pushed the men back and onto their bottoms.
"Don't get yourself killed, with your rash stupidity." Jacen said.
"Hey, bloodthwart!!" Squid boy said. "Git back here, I ain't threw with you!!"
Jacen stopped and turned his head slowly.
The squid head charged, a blowdart in his hand, he lifted it to his mouth and shot the dart. "Jungle frog poison attack!!" Squid said.
"I can see you." Jacen whispered. Jacen leaped and spiraled his legs, this sent him spinning sideways through the air, he dodged the dart and the wind pressure of his cloak stopped its propulsion, it fell harmlessly to the ground. Jacen began to descend next to the man, as he did so he pulled the man's squid hat over his face. The man couldn't get it off. Jacen landed and spanked the man on the bottom with the flat of his sword. The man shot through the air and stuck head first into the side of a building.
Smoke noticed a slight wind pick up and he heard loud boomings like the cannon of the gods shaking in the distance.
"They're here!" Smoke grinned around his mouthful of cigars.
"I thought it was just a tropical storm." Tashigi pondered.
"No, they're stronger than even a hurricane, that crew." Smoke sneered.

Nick stumbled as the ground shook beneath her. She growled, several young children hid behind their mother’s skirts. Frowning, she scraped herself back into a standing position and made her way toward the center of the disturbance. Seeing Jacen there with a little blue haired girl and a pink goat on a nearby building. She leaned against a wall and folded her now booted foot over the other and watched, her black bodice and pants with laces up the sides helped her blend better with the shadows.

The crowd was ghostly silent, then a cheer rumbled through them and exploded into great waves of praise for theri new hero. The townspeople's fear of Jacen was no more. Jacen closed his eyes and smile humbly. Then, a foul stench reeked in his notrils. The secnt of body odor and soiled garments and, strangely, oil based face paint. Jacen glared into the horzon.
"Buggy." He muttered.

Nick smiled slightly from her shadowy post. Good, these people sounded like they could use a hero. She waded through the on lookers and stepped up to Jacen. “Nicely done.” She said to him and nodded her approval. “But what exactly happened? How did you make the ground shake so?”

"It's not that simple, in Alchemy...when I ask the elements it doesn't just 'obey'. They expect something in return of similar patterns. If I ask the wind to blow, I have to give it something at which it can blow. For instance, I can sacrifice rose petals and give the wind the desire to blow them away. And so on wih water and the Earth." Jacen said. "Water's simple becasue it revolves around the wind. In fact, if I could learn to summon the moon, I could create great hurricanes and riptides that could wipe out entire fleets, but, I'm not that good yet and I can't figure out what would be a good sacrifice for somethnig as great as the moon." Jacen winked with his glowing eyes and smiled.

“My father used to carry a weapon with which he was able to summon hurricanes.” Nick proclaimed in a quiet voice. “There was a great ball on the top of it that resembled the moon at it’s fullest, but it was broken when he died.” She smiled back at Jacen. “Shall we go back to the ship, see how the rest of the crew is fairing?” Jump into the inviting waves for a nice dip? She added to herself.
