Glory
2Ch 7:1 Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house.
2Ch 7:2 And the priests could not enter into the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD's house.
2Ch 7:3 And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshiped, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth forever.
Before Solomon started to pray God had entered into the Temple in a thick cloud (1 Kings 8:10-11). The darkness of the cloud was so thick that the priests could not minister to God! So even though the sacrifices were ready the priests could do nothing.
After Solomon prayed God sent Fire from heaven to consume the sacrifices. The honest prayer from one man was able to move God when all the traditions and ceremonies of the priests were powerless.
Then the Glory of God filled the Temple and it could be seen by everyone. Not just the people who were in the Temple but by the whole countryside. Gods Glory was seen even by those who were not in the Temple.
When God answered Solomons Prayer everyone bowed down and worshipped God!
