Man and Woman
Esther 4:16 Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.
Tradition tells us that there were 12,000 Jewish men in Susa, seems like alot to me but I wasn't there 
This is the part I look at. All the men were to gather in one place outside of the palace and there they were to pray and fast for Esther and thier cause before God. Meanwhile , all the women under Esthers care would do the same under her guidance and leadership.
Men and Women with one mind, one heart, one cause all seeking the will of the one true God! The result was the salvation of a people who were condemned to death. God cares, Gods hears, God answers the fervent prayers of those who trust in him.

Structured times for prayer are important, but not everyone is the same. My goal is to "pray without ceasing". To me that means to maintain contact with God throughout the day and to converse with Him as though He were walking beside me all day, which, of course, He is.
He never gets bored with me. He delights in me. He is intimately concerned with every little detail of my life and thoughts. This I truly believe. (on a good day) Heh, heh

I read all the time in the Bible where they pray for days (like here) but I have a hard time going to God for more than five minutes or so
