MY FIRST PRAYER REQUEST
I am ministering to a 16-year-old girl that I came in contact with on myspace in a Christian group. Her father recently committed suicide. I answered her prayer request post and told her I could understand because my father had done the same thing 5 years ago. She messaged me immediately and we have been in touch for three days. My heart goes out to her so deeply, I suppose, because I have 16 yr old twins. I don't even know her real name, but God does.

Re: MY FIRST PRAYER REQUEST
Hi Jondra,
A few years ago I lost my wife. I know it isn't the same thing but I found this scripture was a great comfort to me at the time:
Luke 4:18-19 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
This passage really got to me, Jesus died on the cross and endured so much but even when everyone deserted him he was still thinking of us and the pain we feel! The good part is he can do something about it if we let him... Jesus can heal our broken heart and make us whole!

Re: MY FIRST PRAYER REQUEST
Thank you. My own grief has been healed and my prayer is that I can comfort her with the comfort I was comforted with. (lot of comforts). I just want to tred carefully so that I don't inadvertantly make things worse. I guess that is my true prayer. Don't let me make things worse.

That is so sad and I can relate, I lost my father to suicide when I was 19 and my Mother to suicide 4 yrs ago. It was much more difficult to handle my fathers, because I was young and I wasn't Christian. It is so very important that we give our burdens to God and to remember that our strength comes from God the maker of heaven and earth. My prayers go out to you, Jondra ,and this young lady that is dealing with this tragedy. She will mend, but it will take a little time. She needs good Christian support.
