A challenge to WTF

If your inane and entertaining dung is so accurate and valid as you mistakenly believe, then you'd be confident enough, brave enough and knowledgeable enough to argue your case and win on all websites (for and against), right?

But then I guess this explains your absence on the dozens of history websites/blogs elsewhere I, and many others, are waiting...? emoticon

No doubt you have some sterile, amusingly arrogant and limpwristed cop-out though?

Housecarl (Personal capacity without the impotent BS and pompously self-appointed-but-futile epithets)

Housecarl:

What history blogs or websites would you suggest these folks might like to present their case in?

A plethora of sites they could pick from Google if they weren't too cowardly, clueless and knowingly guilty of internet fascism?

But for the sake of this thread, I'll spoonfeed them a few random starters I've just searched for...

http://www.allempires.com/forum/
http://www.bbc.com
http://www.myspace.com/haroldgodwinson
http://www.tha-engliscan-gesithas.org.uk/
http://www.shadowedrealm.com/
http://normans.etrusia.co.uk/

As I said, they're too full of arrogant inaccuracy and transparent excuses (and crying within their Europrat comfort zone)to even consider...

Agreed Mel.

They must be a bunch of self-congratulating kids with no other friends or interests... emoticon

Housecarl and Melisende:

Hey, calling what the WRTF comes up with "historical fiction" is an insult! I"m the one that's writing a Great Medieval Science Fiction Masterpiece --- and I try to be semi-accurate about the things I'm writing about! Nor do I wallow in valorizing hero-worship!

Houscarl:

Since you recommended those other sites, I decided to check some of them out. I liked The Shadowed Realm, so I decided to join up. They seem to be a reasonably intelligent bunch. I do hope the WRTF investigates the sites you listed, and maybe engages in some real dialog about their favorite subject. I wonder what will happen if they do.

Sorry Mouteriana,

Okay - I'll qualify that - you write "good" historical fiction based on fact.

I'm a member on nearly all of those myself, have been for ages but haven't visited many in quite a while. I think Mel is too.

I'm certain WTF daren't join for reasons that they secretly must admit (but issuing public denials or long silences), they'd be slaughtered within the week!

Housecarl:

Well, their last post was, as usual, a bunch of assertions(they made references to some sources, but no direct quotes, nor any indication of where you could find these things). What bothers me is, if anybody asks for sources to back up their assertions, they just claim the questioner wants to be "spoonfed" or something. And then they don't really suggest any source material that doesn't appear to be taken out of context. I am not particularly knowledgeable myself, butIhave read enough about the period and the people involved, to be rather skeptical of their assertions on any number of grounds.
