a word of advice
Just a little something for you newer guys to think about. (the veterans already know this) Dont concern urself about what is happening at your front hood pin. I dont mean to say you shouldnt watch the car in front of you but, the most important thing is to look beyond your nose. If things happen 5, 6, or more car lengths ahead of you, you need time to react. With the speed these cars have its tough to "stop on a dime" so to speak. Ive seen alot of wrecks happen because the driver was only seeing the tip of his nose and didnt notice what was happening half a corner or straght away ahead. All of a sudden boom its to late now not only did you wreck your car but someone elses also. All because you werent driving defensivly.
Also if you have a mirror....throw it away. all to often guys spend more time blocking and watching whats going on behind them and they make mistakes. You could be in the lead and watching the cars behind you...enter the corner wrong and "poof" 2 cars pass you.
I highly suggest not worring about who or what uve already passed and worry about whats in front of you. You will enter the corners better and drive a cleaner line.
Over the years (close to 15) ive learned its better to finish back a spot or 2 than tear your car all up (or someone elses) tryin to gain one spot. One spot gains you 5 dollars. Takin your car home in 6th, 7th, or even 8th place and in one piece is priceless. There will be many more races and tons more fun if you dont have to spend all week (or 2) fixin up your car cause you were trying to gain that one more position......Just a little advice from a wylie old veteran thats been there and done that.
