Re: Disconnect Rule
iJeremy, friendly word from a racer that understands where your coming from. Chill out and let it be! There is nothing you can do now to change it and all your doing is loosing respect with the other racers and admins.
Your point has been made and there is no need to keep cussing and carrying on it is only making it worse.

Re: Disconnect Rule
Casa: The race doesn't matter, the points don't matter, and where I finished doesn't matter.
What I am frustrated about is 1) No matter how many times I tried not a single soul would tell me why I wasn't getting invited back 2) The complaints about lack of communication were impertinent when I specifically told you guys I was in chat with ratty and apologized 3) if you guys think I blew my engine, ask me, don't just assume it without any actuality, and its not as if I was the only one who was disconnected in that race and lastly 4) Did anybody get a say in ANYTHING during the duration of that race besides TB and Buster?!?! You can't just say I'm disqualified from race because of something YOU CANT PROVE!

Re: Disconnect Rule
Personally, with how random the disconnects are this might work...
Most of us know, if 1 racer goes, 9 times out of 10 the rest of us are going to go soon.
So, lets have it this way,
When a racer gets disconnected, give him a grace period of 10-20 laps (depending on track, which WE as a group will all agree on) If everyone else gets d/c also within that set "grace period" allow that racer to come back, recieve credit for the missed laps, and restart on the back of the field. If everyone remaining in the race does not get d/c, and we race beyond the "grace period" then that racer would be counted out at the lap of which he left. This would go for anyone, no matter the position.
D/C should be treated like a technical failure of the car.

Re: Disconnect Rule
Very nice !!! I will discuss with TB and Buster...
Casa...thanks !!! lol.... and we will have a set rule...now we debate like congress....lol
Hey Jeremy...quick question....were you and Ratty in Chat during the race????
also Jeremy....The official word...which I told you verbally while the incident was going on...::remember?:: was that all thought your car was down...so they simply thought you were out of the race. We were in fact communicating with you. If we made an "on the spot" decision that turned out to not have been the best...apoligies to you and all other Nuffers. We are not pros at this and have to learn as we go.
I think it's great that we are having to deal with this issue now instead of on race 19 or 20. Gives us a chance to improve !!

Re: Disconnect Rule
Ok Jeremy...number 1....you should not be in private chat with anyone during a race...being in chat limits your ability to communicate with the other racers in the race...
number 2...the only reason I was able to communicte with you was because we were in the middle of recreating the race...otherwse..there would not have been a way for me to talk with you as I cannot pause the race in progress.. the race officials are also racing...and may not be able to pause to speak...so it's up to you to make sure you notify the race official immediately of what happened...why you think they should have asked you is a bit confusing to me..
you were almost assigned to track B for that very reason...not communicating... I ran a very slow qualifying time and waited a while before logging lap times...I had no idea you spun out and restarted your laps..and thought all was done...I didn't realize the error until well after I announced the track assignments...and if it wasn't for polinino...you probably would have ended up on track B with me...

Re: Disconnect Rule
another thing about the disconnect rule-i dont know if im missing something but it seems u guys are---what if 2 racers disconect at one time? ive seen it many a time and obviously if two go theres no question it was a server error. if were running 8 thats not enough under the rules to stop the race...would the grace period then apply to both then?
say both of the top runners (say it was abbotazz and tyber at daytona) disappear. this would have to be an example of on site judgement to stop the race...it would be pretty crazy not to stop it then...
just a thot. if im missing something let me know.

Re: Disconnect Rule
One we have a rule that will cover those 2 guys for 10 laps. also there is another of 4 racers to have dc before we all restart.
This rule was done under 12 cars on one track. We will examine this ruling and see if it needs changes by california.

Re: Disconnect Rule
Thanks Ratty....good point....
right now the rule allows for us to stop the race if 4 or more DC...but that is not based on a full track of 12 racers and leaves it to the track admin to determine the best way to handle it...but as a guide..if we take divisions of 2...when we have 10-11 racers...we can stop if 3 or more DC.... under 10 racers..we stop if 2 or more drop...etc etc...I'm sure this won't be a problem with all racers and I think we can leave this to the judgement of the race officials. However..let's be clear that the multiple drops have to happen at the exact same time for this to apply.
Though..not in line with basic rule..I thought it classy that you guys over on Track A decided to stop to get Abbotttazz back in...
If we need to further clarify the drop rule with the above...no problem
If several racers drop...but at diferent times...then each would fall into their own 10 lap grace period.
We'll see what happens...if it turns out we need to modify the rule...we will....
Thanks Again !!
