Race Disconnect Restarts
Been thinking about all the restarts last night and how to make it a more level and fair playing field. If your a lap down or more at time of disconnect, is there a way to carry that forward to the restart?
E.g... Polino #26 (then only one I can remember but sure it affected more) would of been a lap down going into the last restart last night based on posistions but he still finished 2nd in the overall race ??? Is that fair? If it is alright with the league, its alright with me, as long as its consistent for everyone.
My only goal is to generate discussion and receive feedback on other racer's opinion regarding this subject. FYI, other leagues would not include any racer with a lap down or more in a race restart as a result of a disconnect. Just food for thought.

Re: Race Disconnect Restarts
Hmmmm...not sure bout that one... TBDesigns wouldn't have had a chance in his last victory when he was 3 laps down if we had disconnected and applied that rule. T made up the laps due to a few cautions and ended up winning...
You do make a good point about racers who are down 1 lap or more during a discnnect...kinda like the refreshed cars issue.
Not sure how to monitor as we would have to trust all to correctly report their position...or can you tell when OTHER cars are off the lead lap. I can only see where I stand...or when I'm leading..which is rarely..I can see how far I'm ahead of the second place car...or am I missing something...

Re: Race Disconnect Restarts
When you use a view outside the car, change to the HUD with the track map. Press the back button and a player list comes up. It shows car number, gamertag, and running order (not 1st, 2nd, 3rd, but still the order from first to last down the list.). Then you can just try to recall that list like I did last night.

Re: Race Disconnect Restarts
Well I think it all comes down to how many laps are left. Like wils said tb came back from 3 laps down and won the race.
Ulitimatly there are usually enough caution flags to bring everone on the lead lap. i think if you had 4 laps to go then maybe you might not include them. But if there is 20 to go, i think you have to by the time the race is over your going to have another caution.
I don't know how you did the restarts last night but, in all fairness i would say if they were a lap down. make them pit on the first lap after the green flag, and that should put them a lap down. if they were two laps down make them do it twice, and etc.
It all comes down to being honest.

Re: Race Disconnect Restarts
i agree completely about setting cars back on the lap they were at b4 disconnect. its one thing to give everyone clean cars again but its completely different to start someone who was laps down back on the lead lap...

Re: Race Disconnect Restarts
Buster thats an excellent idea. Use the honor sytem and ask racers to pit under green after restarts if they were lap(s) down.
I would support that, even if it is not a rule I think its the gentleman thing to do
For example if I blow an engine or loose a suspension before the race is over I would not accept an invite to a race restart if occured.
