Please complete the below task before the Bud shootout.
All NRL members need to run an xbox live test. Open your market place and go to the systems bar. Click on network settings, and then click test xbox live connection. Click YES on the warning box, and the test will begin. If you get anything other then OPEN on the NAT you need to find out if your router is compatible with xbox live, or have the correct ports open.

This was taken right off the EA Sports Nascar website. If you do the following your ensured success.
It is recommended that you do not play behind a firewall in order to avoid any connection issues. If you wish to play behind a firewall or router you must configure it to allow the following ports:
* UDP 3658 - 3659(peer- to-peer connection).
* UDP 6000 - 6001 (voice over IP).
* UDP 9555 (EA Sports Ticker).
* TCP 31400-31499 (lobby connection).
* TCP 13505 (EA Messenger).
* TCP 443 (DNAS authentication).

Yeah any gaming behind a firewall is a big no no. there is always problems when gaming behind a firewall.

I have an "open" connection but most of the time if I don't join first I can't join at all. Will everyone having an "open" connection change that?

No open connection is just if you are having issues with your router talking with the xbox. If you having problems you should check to see if all your ports or open..

If anyone is using a NetGear WGR614v6, please contact me as I am still having some problems with mine. I currently have mine set up for a DMZ for the XBOX, but unless I go into the router each time and update the settings, I get the STRICT level when testing the XBOX Live connection. If I don't hear from anyone, this router is going on the garage sale pile!!!

Sorry man all i got is a linksys....good luck.... you might try calling 1 800 4 my xbox and see if they can help you fix the problem or see if that is on the compatablity list.....
is might be 1 888 not sure which one ....
