"I really gave up on this guy after he blew that one game against San Diego when he walked 6 or so guys in the 1st inning without getting an out, but i really feel at ease when he comes into the game. "

I think you've got Correia confused with Hennessey in that situation. Correia didn't start any games this year. He had 11 starts in '05.

FB/slider.

Kevin's got better stuff, Nathan has better control.

Kevin wants to start and I believe will get a legitimate shot at #5 in ST. I really don't think there's a great comparison to Joe.

No way.

Stuff, my friend, is movement. Kevin's stuff is so filthy, he has had to go to great lengths to figure it out.

Nathan throws hard and straight. Sometimes, he can cut it a little, but compared to Correia, his stuff is not as active.

Yes way.

Nathan's breaking stuff is consistantly untouchable.

Correia has no consistantly filthy pitch.

I agree with you that Nathan's slider is filthy.

Correia would love to have one consistent pitch in '07. However, his change and slider are plus...with some help and time, he may develop into filthy.

But the stuff on his fb is great.

Back to the original comment, I really don't compare the two at all.

Me neither.

Many relievers, good and otherwise, are failed starters.

It was in '05 i never said it was last year.
I embellished the walk total quite a bit but i was totally yelling at the TV for Alou to get him out of there.

Fair enough. I was at a game in 2004 in LA when Cooper got shelled in the first three innings and Correia came in a gave four innings of decent relief. He gave up a HR, but looked sharp and struck out four in four innings.

Just saying, we can definetly be influenced by our personal memories when it comes to players. Based on being at that game, I feel like correia is reliable. That's we have to look at the season stats to combat that.
