Sorry folks, took ill along with the Giants slide in Pittsburgh......time to play a little catchup
Wow, …..a beautiful ballpark…..a team with a rich tradition and history loaded with Hall of Famers………
So as the Giants come off many years of winning, we see a Pittsburgh Team than hasn’t had a winning season since Barry wore #24……And looking at this team is seems hard to believe…..
Deep pitching staff, with a hard throwing Snell backed by a bunch of talented lefties…..a lineup with clearly more power than the Giants…..and a bullpen at least comparable to the Giants
And boy did they prove it this week, smacked the Giants around like some 8 year old white trash kid at a Wal Mart……

PIRATES SERIES 05/06-05/08
GAMEBALL
ORTMEIER
Freaking Lefties Lefties Lefties……
Well if anyone benefited from the Parade of Pirate portsiders…. it was Mr Ortmeier who finally got a smattering of playing time and converted it into an impressive 5 for 9 performance with a couple of doubles……..
Dan is athletic and seems to be adaptable to many situations, which will serve him well……but the thing I love with his bat is the back spin he gets on line drive…..
when he smokes a ball, it seems to have a second stage of acceleration that takes it about 10-20 feet further than you would judge off the bat……
The kid has legitimate power ….now if can find a spot in the lineup and make enough contact to make use of it……well……that’s a different story…..
TIP OF THE CAP BULLPEN
Well……at least the damn didn’t break here…..Although Taschner allowed his first inherited runner to score (now 18 for 19)……..
JERK
STARTERS
The backbone of the feel good stretch of April…..took their lumps in Pittsburgh……
A wild hittable Sanchez…..
A tiptoe, highwire Zito
And a lame Cain…..
All came out on the short end of the stick as they were battered around by the Pirates lineup
SMACK OF THE STICK HENNY
You can only go so far with marginal control and a 92 MPH straight tball………
