07/24/08 NATIONALS at GIANTS
07/24/08 NATIONALS at GIANTS
GAMEBALL
CAIN
Wow…..so that’s what all the "psychological damage" has done to Matty…..
Yup, he turned around and shoved the baseball right up the Nationals ass…..putting up goose egg after goose egg…..
No Run support???? NO problem…..Cain was gonna win 0 to negative 1 if he had to……
SO the Giants seem to have an embarrassment of riches in Lincecum, Sanchez,. and Cain …..against a backdrop of Zito, Correia, and Lowry and with perhaps Sosa, Bumgarter, and Alderson on the way…..the Giants must be tempted to deal Cain for badly needed punch……
But everyone knows that starting pitching is so hard to find and being waist deep in talent has really skewed our appreciation of what is right in front of us…….
Hell with pitching staff with this potential, all its going to take is a good defense and a decent offensive attack and this could turn into a dominant team for years……
So have a little patience for some of the kids to mature on the offensive end, and don’t worry about Cain…….He is a MAN, and he is a GIANT, and he WILL be wearing a GIANTS WORLD SERIES RING before its all said and done……
TIP OF THE CAP
ROBERTS
Actually has some value.,…..and chance he can prove his health fast enough to get dealt????

No Write Ups???
No Updates????
What the hell is going on???
Well folks, I'm back….been back for a little over a week….just been either
Who knows if you missed me or not….but time to get back into the swing of things
For those that care and haven't figured it out,…….
Thursday 7/3 flew into Chicago…ate Giordinos and slept…..
Friday 7/4 hit Taste of Chicago food festival, which was a big disappointment…..full of tastless crap……the only thing worth talking about was the cheesecake……
Hit a White Sox game that night, and got myself a Camouflage White Sox cap giveaway…..ate, hung out and cheered with the locals……even picked up a sweet cubs hat…..with a big Cubs "C"…..which started the word CHOKER……..
Saturday 7/5…. grabbed food at Superdawg, which was the food highlight of the trip…….picked up Sealhugger at Midway and made our way slowly to Minneapolis…….Finished the night with midnight White Castle….which I admit has started to grow on me….
Sunday 7/6 Woke up and caught the last game of the Twins homestand…..
Weird park, and even weirder fans……..1) I've never been to such a quiet game with over 30,000 people……2) I've never seen so many handicapped ppl at a ballgame……..don't know what was behind THAT…….
Dinner was at a funky Tiki Bar called Psyco Suzi's café……and encountered my first Cheeze Curd…….
Monday 7/7…in London you see Big Ben, in SF you see the Golden Gate, New York Statue of Liberty……..in Minnesota????……they have the Great Mall…….
Big and boring…..but I can check it off the list…..and hey….it beats the Flying Fish of Seattle………Dinner at a funky place with a Mashed Potato Bar……called Joe's Garage…..and no…..they didn’t play any Zappa
Tuesday 7/8 Hell……its only 150 minutes out of our way……and when else are we going to be in Iowa……so might as well……..CORN CORN CORN and a field and some t shirts…..CORN CORN CORN…. they built it……we drove……
and then outta there to Milwaukee……
****ty ass food at Miller Café in the hotel lobby……and sleep
Wednesday 7/9 Check out the funky stores with Beer and Cheeze and Sausage…..
Then a ball game at Miller Park……Nice Nice park……pretty good fans……
Thursday 7/10 Back into Chicago just in time for a NASTY storm……Sealhugger sits on tarmac for hours but makes it back to SF……we hit Giordinos again……
Friday 7/11 Various sight seeing in Chicago…and Navy Pier……
Saturday 7/12 Cubs Game behind the plate……perfect ****ing seats……
Giants come back to tie it in the 9th….only to blow it……..
Man ****ing public transit takes forever……
Sunday 7/13 Cubs game in the bleachers…….:Lincecum saves the trip with a win……Cubs fans turn ugly……..Drove and parked about a mile from the park…….the heat and humidity is really taxing…….
Monday 7/14 Time to go home…..but first get my car towed 3 hours before the flight…….
Get the car out of the yard and speed to the airport……make plane 7 minutes before take off…….
Tuesday 7/15 - Friday 7/18…… catching up at work and home…….
Friday 7/18 - Sunday 7/20 Go to every single game during the Brewer series……Getting ready to kill someone after the sweep is complete…….but the Giants picnic in the park is fairly well run and I get 9 major league Autographs without much effort…….
What do you know….Zito is friendly and talkative…..especially to the kids………
SMACK OF THE STICK
JIM BOWDEN
And you thought Sabes was a jackass…….
The man that let Soriano walk away after being the hottest item on the trade market is back at his hijinx…
dealing closer Jon Rauch to the Diamondbacks for a middle of the road 2nd base prospect……and signing Cristian Guzman to a fat contract
1) Rauch was cheap for another 2 years at least
2) After injuries to Milledge, Pena, Dukes, Johnson, and Young….they need outfielders and 1stbasemen……
3) Lopez, Belliard, and even Harris can cover 2nd base……
4) Guzman is average defensively, is injury prone, and the epitome of an empty.300 average….
5) With a weak starting staff and an decent bullpen…..the last thing you wanted to give up was a cheap young good arm…..

You missed the big Bowden move of the day: he announced, out of the blue, that Chad Cordero would be non-tendered... 5 months before the non-tender deadline.

I think my eyes just got a little misty.
Must just be cobwebs from waiting so long for the RING.
