What an amazing story……
After being drafted by the Cleveland Spiders in 1889, McClain spent most of his life bouncing around the minors living off salaries below the poverty line, while collecting a minor league record 1427 Homers…..
But its not as if Scott had never had his cup of coffee, in fact during World War II he played 3 full seasons with the St Louis Browns, unfortunately those records are not recognized by major league baseball because it sounds more like a Cleveland Football team……
But all those years toiling in obscurity was worth it for today, where Scott finally got his 1st career major league homerun…….and not only that he has put himself in a good position to win the 3rd base job furthering the Giants Youth movement……..
In a related story, Pedro Feliz original birth certificate was discovered, and it turns out he is the 4th Alou brother……
