The orange is too strong. The "cream" is too yellow so it doesn't go well with the other orange you used in the frame which actually is a pretty nice orange. If I were designing it, I'd go with choice B with a light grey in place of the "yellow." Let the orange grid be the star. The message interface itself is what we are all here for.
