OK, thanks for voting
I was hoping to have a clear cut winner and we were almost there
Choice B had the most votes, but was short of a majority
Therefore, please vote one more time

I still think the original colors were the best.
However, since Choice C didnt make it in to the run off and i have no other options, I'm going to recommend Choice A.

Both of those colors are off. The orange is too strong. The "cream" is too yellow so it doesn't go well with the other orange you used in the frame which actually is a pretty nice orange.
If I were designing it, I'd go with choice B with a light grey in place of the "yellow." Let the orange grid be the star. The message interface itself is what we are all here for.
