San Jose at Stockton... Tim Lincecum Pics and Vids
Hey Guys
Im in stockton on the trail of Tim Lincecum.
Have a number of vids and pics to post.
Going to upload a few and finish up tomorrow.
Nice little park, and its only 1 year old and right on the san joaquin river.
Not a big crowd as the circus is in town, or so the ushers tell me.
Dick Tidrow head player personel and defacto #2 to Sabean was in attendance and a few rows right behind me. Not sure if his attendance tells me anything, but I am guessing that he is evaulating where Lincecum fits for next year.
Lincecum is SICK.....
96 MPH riding heater and a knee buckling 75 MPH overhand curve.
Speed Gun was available, but very jumpy so I talked to one of the scouts to get a speed.
I have never seen anything like this. These hitters were so over matched it was like a cartoon. The only thing I could think of is a Danny Almonte, the hitters looked that bad. Kid has a plus Fastball AND Curveball....
He worked quickly and sat down for the first inning and it was
3 strikes for out 1
3 strikes for out 2
2 strikes and a bouncer to 2nd
And this wasn't a bad hitting team with BIG NUMBERS up and down the Stockton lineup....
And the domination was continued except when he lost feel occasionally.
He has some control issues, as both the curveball and fastball seem to get away from him time to time. And especially in the second inning, where he lost feel of both pitches for a couple of batters.
Man, this kid is WAY too good for this level.
I will repeat, ITS LIKE WATCHING A CARTOON.....
I can't imagine he would start any lower than AAA next year, and I think the Giants will have a strong temptation to bring him to the bigs sometime in 2007...
