Introducing me!

I was really pleased to find out about this website, some good information and videos emoticon I have been dancing modern jive for 4 years, and turned my hands to wcs about a year ago, after a taster class at Southport.
Hope to meet some fellow addicts on here in the future and keep informed about wcs in the UK.

Re: Introducing me!

Hello.

I have been dancing modern jive for 7 years now (oh my, how time flies when you are having fun), tried a year of lindy hop (too early in my dancing to appreciate it), ballroom and latin for two years, argentine tango for the last month, and WCS since doing the six week beginner course with Cat and Lee at Darford from last January.

WCS seems to have a loyal, but small following and the whole dance WCS dance scene seems to me to be just on the edge of achieving "critical mass". It is a dance form where the foundations have to be solid before much can be built upon it (and that is what I am currently trying to do). I have been through this process in Ballroom and Latin, have suffered from a lack of it in modern jive, and this is why I am much more prepared to put the effort into my dance foundation now, much more than I would have been about 5 years ago.

Currently I am lucky enough to have a weekly class about an hours drive from me in Dartford that I can go to and I feel that I am making progress. I did try for the whole of the previous year to learn by getting to lessons at weekenders and once a month workshops but this really didn't work for me.

I hope this website will help promote WCS in the UK and my understanding and appreciation of it.

More to learn. More to enjoy.
