Re: Introducing me!
Hi.
Newbie WCS dancer, but I've been doing MJ for several years and Arg Tango for just over a year.
Did lots of taster classes in WCS at various MJ weekenders - decided about 5 weeks ago at Southport that I really had to get up and follow if I'm ever to progres. No turning back now.
Sadly no classes in my area, so learning via DVD, weekenders and helpful leaders.

Re: Introducing me!
I have to admire your taste - A. Tango & WCS are my favourite 2 dance styles. Good luck with your WCS-ing, why not invite some teachers to your area for a workshop, and get a like-minded group of dancers/ceroc-ers together?

Re: Introducing me!
I'm not going to get involved in dance politics, which I fear would be the result if I tried to organise events myself...
But I think I will do what I can to promote WCS - even if its only one person at a time!

Re: Introducing me!
Ah…here is the introduction thread.
I joined this forum a little while back, but now having found this thread, I feel I should introduce myself. I don’t recognise many names, but I sure I must know some of you.
I am Ian. Some may know me from teaching Tango (and sometimes salsa) with Mandy at weekenders and workshops. Mandy & I started teaching WCS just 4 weeks ago in the New Forest. I would love to see this dance grow beyond the odd hotspot in the UK and hope we can do our little bit to help.

Nice to meet you Rosie
Yes, I am teaching at Bramshaw couple of miles from where I live. It's small village in the New Forest. At first, it would seem an odd place for a venue in the middle of a Forest, but it is Easily reached from Southampton, Bournemouth, Salisbury etc. Plus the venue already hosts a thriving Jive Argentine Tango and line dance community. We are attracting a steady 60/70 dancers at the moment, but are aware of how difficult other venues have found it to keep good numbers.
We hope to feed dancers into Cat's workshops at Southampton & Windsor and try to keep a reasonable standard.
On a selfish level... at last I have somewhere to dance WCS on a regular basis.
