Re: met pepper?
i met Pepper twice...you guys have probably heard the story by now but hell i'll tell it again.
first time was back in 1999 in Waterbury, CT. i named my cat after Pepper in high school...i was in the Cabaal back then so i was pretty sure i could get backstage, which i did, thanks to my trusty pass. so i met eveyone but Mike Dean..Reed and Woody were SUPER sweet. i didnt talk to Woody much but we hung out with Reed most of the night, it was a mini metal festival and Reed was hanging out in the main room selling tshirts. what a ****ing sweetheart he is, i cant say it enough.
anywho, i got backstage and found my boy...i gave him a BIG hug and said i had something for him, i had taken a photo of my cat and told him how he was named after him and he had the BIGGEST smile on his face, i wanted to crap! heh. so they went on and did their set and before their last song, Clean my Wounds, Pepper told them about me and my kitty and held up the photo on stage! i couldnt understand everything he said, but i think he dedicated Clean my Wounds to me. oh my god i thought i was gonna die. afterward he came down to shake everyones hand and he gave me two of his guitar picks. i'm up to like...5 of them now, heh.
the second time we met was at a Down meet-n-greet for ozzfest 2002 i think. i didnt get there in time to be in line to get things signed, so me and my friend stood outside the barrier and after the line ended, i screamed at them like an asshole, heh. all i got out of Phil was a smirk when i ordered him to "get off his ass and come here". heh, but Pepper came over and gave me a hug, and i asked him if he remembered the girl who named her cat after him and he didnt remember. (insert sad face here....oh wait...  )
but hey, i had my one night of glory and thats more than a lot of people have had, i am absolutely blessed to have had Pepper's appreciation for that one night.
