Christmas Tree
Christmas Tree
I stand alone within myself
Not not making any sound ....
I feel the stir of life inside
From lofty bowers frown.
My seeds put forth begin to swell
I feel the time is near ....
To fall into oblivion
Amidst the wandering deer.
The moments here and I can fly
Not up, nor out, but down ...
I land against the forest floor
Dressed in its whitest gown.
I see my past, I know the course
Of what my life will mean ....
To bring great joy to everyone
Upon my branches seen.
Though deeply rooted, I am now
The pine scent round me lies ....
So gently upon the ethereal
When meeting cloudy skies.
It's man I see, looking at me
With calculating stare ....
Will I fit, into the nich
That he's prepared with care.
Now chosen as the perfect tree
The saw comes into play ....
With powerful arms, he cuts me down
Til neath his feet I lay.
My sap runs cold, into the snow
While slowly I am pulled ....
To warmth and love near fireside
Near cups of eggnog full.
Soon dressed in berries ruby red
And popcorn garlands round ....
The drifting sights of doves of peace
Yule star upon my crown.
I am a simple Christmas tree
My power, your spirits, to lift ....
It's felt to be my special charm
From god, to you, his Christmas gift.

Re: Christmas Tree
That is really beautiful. I love poetry but I can't write it myself. I stick to prose.
