Some post/account basics
Inserting Link In Message
To insert a link in a message you need to get the URL, or address of the site you want to link to.
Then in the message area you need to click on the Insert Link button and paste the URL into the pop up prompt, then click Ok.
Another pop up prompt will appear asking you to enter the name of the URL. This can be the name of the website, or any other word which will can be clicked on to take a person to the site.
The coding should look something like this (minus the *):
[*url=http://pervypixie.net]PervyPixie[*/url]
Or alternatively you can enclose the URL inside the url tag like this (again minus the *):
[*url]http://pervypixie.net[*/url]
Inserting An Image In Message
To insert an image the image must be uploaded to an image hosting site, of which there are a number of free hosting sites around, I use Ripway.
Once the image is uploaded you then need to copy the URL, or address of the image.
Then in the message box you need to click on the Inser Image button and in the pop up prompt paste the URL of the image and click Ok.
Or alternatively you can enclose the image URL inside the img tag, like this (no * though):
[*img] [*url]http://h1.ripway.com/gruntgroper/Signatures/Aims/supernatualsig.png[*/img][/*url]
Adding A Signature Image
The image used in the signature, as with any image, needs to be uploaded to a hosting site, like Ripway – I promise I am receiving nothing for the promotion of Ripway!
Once image is uploaded you then need to copy the URL, or address of the image and go to your Control Panel.
Once inside the Control Panel you then need to click on the Miscellaneous Settings button.
There should be an empty box labelled Signature, paste the URL into this box.
Then you need to insert the img tag around the url and if you are picky like me and want the image to be centered on the screen then you need to add the center tags.
The coding you end up with should look like this (minus the *):
[*center][*img]http://h1.ripway.com/gruntgroper/Signatures/Aims/supernatualsig.png[*/img][*/center]
Now save your settings.
Adding An Avatar
The image used in the avatar, as with any image, needs to be uploaded to a hosting site, like Ripway.
Once image is uploaded you then need to copy the URL, or address of the image and go to your Control Panel.
Once inside the Control Panel you then need to click on the Miscellaneous Settings button.
There should be an empty box labelled Avatar, paste the URL into this box.
Now save your settings.
