JOHNNY DEPP
I was getting ready to add the newest Johnny Depp pictures from his latest movie/musical, "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street", when I realized that we do NOT yet have just a Johnny Depp topic! We have POTC and some on other obsessions......but not THE MAN alone.......so, I shall give him one!
OK........starting with his latest project......
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
WIKIPEDIA HISTORY...
Sweeney Todd is a fictional villain/antihero. A barber and serial killer, the character appears in various English language works starting in the mid-19th century. His weapon of choice is a straight razor, with which he cuts his victim's throats; in some versions of the story his lover, friend and accomplice, Margery (sometimes Nellie or Claudette) Lovett, bakes the carcasses into meat pies.
In two books, the horror and crime story writer Peter Haining argues that Sweeney Todd was a historical figure who committed his crimes around 1800. However, other researchers who have tried to verify his citations find nothing in these sources to back Haining's claims.
Director Tim Burton spoke to Robert Hofler of Variety about his upcoming film of the classic Stephen Sondheim musical SWEENEY TODD, starring Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter. Although his leads are, says Hofler, "a decade or two younger than most Sweeneys and Mrs. Lovetts who've trod the stage[,] Burton likes it that way, saying his two serial killers convey a 'weird, faded hopefulness. It somehow clicked strongly for me.'" Nor does the fact that neither Johnny nor Helena has professional experience in musicals concern the director unduly: "When they talk and then sing, it is not two different things," Tim told Hofler. "Hopefully, it feels of a piece."
Burton doesn't think of his SWEENEY TODD film as "a musical," exactly. "In fact, it's like a silent movie with music. Like an old horror movie," he told Hofler. "The emotions come through. Johnny enjoyed that silent-actor style of acting. It was liberating." Liberating, yes--but also, in Burton's words, "scary risky." After all, SWEENEY TODD is a much-honored masterpiece. According to Hofler, Burton reassured Stephen Sondheim that his work was in good hands: "I told Stephen: 'I know Johnny. I know he wouldn't say yes if he couldn't do it.' " Adds Burton, "Everybody went on that faith."

Re: JOHNNY DEPP (Can not believe we don't have one already!)
I can remember watching "The Astronaut's Wife" years ago, that love scene where they just have sex right there on the wall, I can remember thinking that was one of the steamiest scenes I had seen in a loong time.
He's just...got IT. That IT factor. Men want to be him, women want to be under him. In my opinion he's more than just an attractive man, he's one of the coolest cats in Hollywood. He reminds me of a guy who could have dinner either at a 5 star sushi bar and then have a bbq the next day. Flexible. HUMAN. Not someone who sees himself as some sort of demi-god. Just a cool cool guy. THAT'S attractive.
lol @ the flipping off pic. Wonder who that was meant for? I imagine the paparazzi guys.
Rock on Johnny... :rkon:

We're all sinners and saints in one form or another. No one is perfect and it's man's curiosity to try new things. Life is a learning experience.
