MMMMMMM....Fresh Baked Bread!!!!!
My all time favorite; (modified for the dough setting on a Bread Machine--for some reason I have the worse luck when it comes to kneading the dough properly so I've gone to using the Dough setting on the Bread Machine hubby bought me shortly after our first anniversary [91]--use the Wheat bread setting if you cook it in the machine as well)
HONEY-WHEAT BREAD
Ingredients:
small loaf........................large loaf
3/4 cup..........WATER......1-1/8 cup
1-1/2 cup.....White AP......2-1/2 cup
....................Flour
1/2 cup........WHEAT FLOUR...1/2 cup
1Tbsp...........DRY MILK*....1-1/2 Tbsp
1 Tbsp............HONEY......1-1/2 Tbsp
1 tsp.............. SALT........1-1/2 tsp
1 Tbsp............BUTTER......2 Tbsp
1 tsp...............YEAST........2 tsp
.....................fast rise
........................~or~
1-1/2 tsp..........YEAST........3 tsp
...................active dry
Place ingredients in machine in order shown above. Place machine on dough setting..and let machine do its thing...have a cup of coffee watch a soap/movie..
When cycle is complete...turn dough out into a bowl that has been greased with butter or shortening (butter's better). Turn to coat all sides...Turn out onto a lightly floured board (wax paper will work just fine in place of the board)...Divide dough in half and shape (coat hands with flour so the dough doesn't stick too much) into loaf and place in two buttered/greased loaf pans. Brush top and sides with melted butter.
Set on top of stove and cover with a dry Kitchen Towel. Turn oven to 375 (or adjust to suit your altitude/oven...my current oven has to be set at 350). Let rise for 30 minutes or until it's doubled in size.
Bake for 25 but no more than 45 minutes (start checking after twenty minutes.) You'll know its down properly when you thump the top and it sounds hollow (like when you're checking a Watermelon to see if its ripe)..
Cool on wire rack for at least 5 minutes then slice and serve with fresh butter (my machine has a butter churn setting which I love) jam or honey.
*you can substitue Dry Milk with Non-Dairy Creamer.

Re: MMMMMMM....Fresh Baked Bread!!!!!
This is a quick and delicious bread that's perfect for a snack, or with a meal....
PULL-APART BACON BREAD
Ingredients
12 bacon strips...cooked and crumbled...finely
1 loaf (1 lb) frozen bread dough, thawed
2 Tbsp olive or vegetable oil (divided)
1 cup (4 oz)Shredded Cheese (the original recipe called for Mozzarella but I love this with an Xtra Sharp White Cheddar)
1 envelope (1 oz) ranch salad dressing mix.
After cooking and crumbling bacon...roll thawed dough out to aproximately 1/2-inch thickness: brush with 1 tablespoon of the oil. Cut into 1-inch pieces: place in a large bowl. Add the bacon, cheese, dressing mix and remaining oil; toss to coat.
Arrange pieces in a 9-inch X 5-inch oval on a greased baking sheet, layering as needed. Cover and let rise in a warm place (top of stove--after you've turned the oven on is the best place) for 30 minutes or until doubled.
Bake at 350 for 15 minutes. Cover with foil; bake 5-10 minutes longer or until golden brown.

Oh those sound wonderful! I'm sure a lot of members will appreciate them! :bow2:
I can't bake here....the RV oven is horrible.....and it uses up a LOT of propane......at $4.35 a gallon...
How old is your RV? I would (if I were you) reconsider getting a new (or newer) RV...or at least getting a newer stove/oven...our old Camper Trailer was a '76 but the stove/oven was from a '89 RV (motorhome) and just cooking only-- a tank would last a month or more (cooking 2 meals and maybe a snack or two every day except Monday when we'd get paid and go out to eat).
Hope you're cooking arrangements improve soon.

Re: MMMMMMM....Fresh Baked Bread!!!!!
By small tanks I take it you don' t mean those little tanks that normally come with a gas Grill? Over here you can get those tanks (the Gas Grill tanks) either refilled or exchanged at almost every convienence store for just around 30 bucks...we had four hooked up and each tank would last us right around a month (back in NY from '96 to 2000--it would cost us about 15 to 18 bucks to fill each tank)
I guess propane is more expensive over in Arizona than it is here...
Good Luck Queeny.
