big oboes!

hello,
Any of the oboists here played one of the big oboes, like the heckelphone or the baritone oboe?
  Just curious,
godzilla

Hey ember38, is your name "ember" or did you read the book "ember"? Just asking, cause our teacher's reading us the book called ember, and it's a pretty wicked book!

I've never had the chance, although I once picked up a cor anglais to see what the spacing for fingers was like. But that's all - I did just pick it up; didn't play it! emoticon I loooooooooooove the sounds of hecklephone etc though emoticon
