The first song I ever heard was Wish You Where Here! Next thing was that I had to get this album and and I loved it!

I had been familiar with more than radio Floyd in grade School from a friend who had brought me some of his Dad's mixed Floyd tapes but I never really took to them then.
Then, when I was about 14 and listening to Motley Crue and AC/DC and also starting to "experiment," and older guy I kinda knew invited me in one day a threw his Relics record on.
Looking at that cover and hearing and reading the titles of those songs in my state of mind was all it took to get me instantly hooked and I knew that this was some of the coolest music EVER MADE.
From that day on I was addicted and hardcore hooked on anything Floyd I could get my hands on.

It sounded great on my car stereo...I'd burn one and several times played the album 'Wish You Were Here' over and over until the battery was dead. Then I discovered the movie 'The Wall' while chewing on a very small piece of paper and I was hooked!

Wellll...
I dropped acid for the first time at age 12. That was, what, 1972? Sitting in my bedroom full of blacklight posters and strobe lights, incense stenchers going and passing around joints of Panama Red and watching all the trails and colors, what else were we going to listen to?
Strangely, my dad, a classical musician, also had an appreciation for their music.

Back in 1970 in chicago the public television station ..wttw as i recall, broadcasted on sunday night for a while a weekly floyd hour. Very trippy..a studio stage show with freaky visuals.. wed be trippin and such. then I saw them for the first time in 72 at the auditorium theatre..Istill have the handbill..Eclipse a piece for assorted lunatics 2 yrs before DSOTM was released
