futuresonic festival needs help with info
Hi all, I really need your help. I work
for a major international music and arts festival in the UK called Futuresonic
(www.futuresonic.com). Running from 10 -12 May, we are celebrating 40 years of audio-
visual art on 12 May which, as you will know is, 40 years exactly since Games For May took
place in London. As part of the festival, and in respect for Syd Barrett, we are trying to
locate original lightshow creators and artists from that year, and in particular The UFO
club. We want them to work with a current Manchester underground club, TRAMP! and
their own artists and lighting people. We have Barry Miles speaking but he is unable to
organise the club event. With this in mind does anyone have contacts/information/leads
for anyone directly or loosely involved with the UFO or 14-Hour Technicolour Dream? I was
hoping to get contacts for, amongst others:
Mike Leonard
L Murray
John 'Hoppy' Hopkins (does he run a record shop somewhere?)
Storm Thorgernson
John Gannon (Cannon?)
The Experimental Workshop, Notting Hill
And any lighting, visuals or sound people connected with events in 1967.
I really hope you can help as we want to recognise this seminal year as part of the festival
and Syd's contribution.
