Re: Mixed Tour

Tis an interesting point. I think we need some realistic thinking regarding mixed tour. First there are some preliminary qualifiers to get through to sort out seeding in Bristol on the 31st March-1st April. Then tour 1 is in Cardiff on the weeekend 14th April. The last is in Birmingham on the 19th of May. When I say we need to realistic I think that we've had problems getting a team to LWL and thats only just down the road. The distances are big but not impassable so I guess I'm arguing against myself there.
However the May fixture is in exam time...this caused a problem with the last LWL, would it happen again?
I don't mean to be overly critical because playing more is a great thing. If we were to think about this I think we'd need a reasonably high level of committment from enough players for a team. So putting it out there...who would want to play and besides some unforseen circumstances e.g. my knee needs surgery or my goldfish died who can honestly commit to these weekends?

Re: Mixed Tour

obviously very good points with the whole commitment issues, these could and probably would resurface. It seems to be the case that quite often people seem to be more up for weekend events rather than one day events, which could work in are favour.
Also its not a uni event so its always easier to call upon non uni people to play.

Plus this is the last year for many of us and it would be rather cool to all go away one more time.

I'd be up for it anyway.

Fair points. I'd be up for it if other people are. I think the main thing we need is quite a few people expressing interest soon and committing to those weekends. So heres their chance...who would be intertested?

Re: Mixed Tour

I'll be doing my final placement during most of that time so as long as I can find time to do lesson plans between matches (I've managed it at indoor) I'll be available at weekends.
