"Generation 1" refers to all Transformers toys and related merchandise, shows, comics etc. produced from 1984-1993. G1 reissues, eHobby repaints and more recently produced G1 media such as the Dreamwave/DD/IDW comics and the upcoming movie in 2007 may be discussed here.
"Generation 2" refers to all Transformers toys and related merchandise, comics etc. produced from 1993-1995 under the 'Generation 2' title.
