Re: Sabretron 2006 - Suggestion Box
Preferably, a better venue if budget and booking allows. Personally, the '04 one at Ashfield seemed a little dodgey and dark. If you can find a place that is a little more open, bright, and with more traffic it'd be super.
And as a marketer/finance person, just pump the marketing of the convention as high as possible, with flyers/cards, posts on TF forums and non-TF anime forums and Word of Mouth. I know that prolly takes a chunk of the budget, but hopefully that'll increase the attendance and possible revenue.
Lastly for now at 1:40am, perhaps need something that makes most of the attendees to stay longer at the convention. I think last time I ended up only staying for 15 minutes, shortly after winning Armada Hot Shot off ya Gok and chatting to Dirge. If you can retain the attendees' attention and make them stay longer (somehow), they'll find it more worthwhile and value for their entry fee. Then they'll also be back the following years.
Think that's it for now...till next time. Keep up the good work.

Re: Sabretron 2006 - Suggestion Box
Well, the suggestion for maintaining attendance was to have continual events - hence why we had screenings, games and random triv question asked every 15 min (and more frequently towards the end).
I'd like to organise more events - probably get a venue with a separate room for games and screenings.
Any specific suggestions for events that would keep people hanging around would be appreciated.

For people who can't attend, a way of purchasing the comics (including back issues). I did have an order with sickcow which included these comics, but it fell through and he closed down. I remember the first one though, and liked it, so wanted to track down the rest.
