BotCon 2005 Toys
I received Fallback & Dirge in the mail yesterday (thanks to Griffin), and I have to say I'm impressed by Fallback. Basically, this is Strongarm redone as Outback, and the colours are a lot more focused than in Energon - plus the cannon makes sense now.
Dirge isn't so focused, it's just an orange Buzzclaw, but the series of toys this year also gave us Tow-Line repainted as both Ratchet _and_ Ironhide, which is a really nifty idea. Finally, a Ratchet with a head! It's just a shame that one's in very limited numbers.
On the whole, I'm very impressed with this year's fare (despite there being so many Buzzclaw repaints), which can be seen at:

Re: BotCon 2005 Toys
I must admit that I am also somewhat baffled about the choice of the Buzzclaw mould - and in such abundant use too. Sure, the Mach Alert/RiD Prowl mould was also used for 3 OTFCC exclusives, and Speedbreaker/Side Burn, but unlike Buzzclaw, they're good toys. (:

Yeah you make a good point. it seems like an odd choice to me also - it's not a versatile mould, like Mach Alert, that can carry different colours in different ways.
I assume they wanted to go for a Basic Beast and there wasn't a lot available?
