Decepticharge

It seems everyone has an opinion on whether BT or Alternators is the better toyline. Removing price & availability, I think most fans would have to agree that BT represents a higher quality product.

Am I the only one who would have liked to see Decepticharge in BT? The colour scheme screams Drag Strip to me, and while some aspects of the paint mask could do with some work, I think the concept would have been nice to see in Binaltech.

Your thoughts?

Re: Decepticharge

Advantages of seeing a Binaltech DeceptiCharge:

(1) Takara would never give him a name as stupid as DeceptiCharge - he would most likely be called Drag Stripe, which is the Japanese name for Drag Strip.

(2) Die-cast metal goodness.

(3) Superior paints, with a much nicer choice of yellow - the toy would end up with a look more like yellow Tracks.

(4) More realistic racing stripes and/or sponsorship brand names would be used, since Binaltech is insistent on making their toys life-like 1:24 scale replicas (hence why Tracks was initially yellow, since that model Corvette is not available in blue in real life).

(5) There would be another chapter added to the Binaltech story, explaining the origin and nature of BT Drag Stripe.

(6) He will have a gun!

(7) If he were released as a Binaltech Asterisk, he may also have a human driver... could this finally be a chance for fans to get a Dr. Archiville figure?

I think that a more focused name is a given.

These go without saying, and I don't really hold them against Decepticharge (not that i like them).

This is probably the biggest advantage for me - some of the silly psuedo-brands really hurt the visual impact in vehicle mode. All my 'con BTs are in vehicle mode but I just can't bring myself to display Decepticharge in vehicle mode.

I kinda hope it'll actually _be_ Drag Stripe, though. The "it's not actually Prowl/Jaguar" thing kinda bugs me.

Oh, come on - what's wrong with the scanner of doom? emoticon

Vector Sigma created Drag Strip in the G1 cartoon, so why not a VS with Drag Strip?

You'll notice that Takara have yet to adopt my survey card suggestion of BT Time Warrior!
