Anyone here meditate?
Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone here practice meditation? Do you practice from a religious aspect (maybe as part of your faith) or to help your training?
Please share.
Cheers,
Charles.

Re: Anyone here meditate?
Hiya
I have been shown how to meditate by my mam. I find that it helps me reduce my stress / nerves at a grading or comp.
regards
Kim

Re: Anyone here meditate?
Hello,Charles and Kim. I find different kinds of meditation can be for some an not for others, to the point where it could be dangerous. Some great teachers say theirs is perfect for everyone. As religious and "practical", both are good. One is really doing the other. I found spiritual is good but doing your martial meditation can change the conciousness also. The "dross" that covers the "true self" may be cleared with deeply concentrated martial training or spiritual. Both are paralell paths, to me. Withdrawing the five senses is what some say is best. Sitting with no distractions. I believe, that you can do a similar thing, in martial disciplines, kata ofcourse, but also basics. Although moveing active, you can achieve the same , "withdrawl" of the five senses. Not as confusing as it sounds. But quite stressful on the body, and mind. Not everyone can or should do this. I only do karate to achieve conciousness expansion now.Go peacefully on the journey. Small krane Anthony.
