Re: airman
Hi sean, there have been numerous 25 lb fish out this season, there are plenty of 20's in there and even more upper doubles.
Fishing the margins, as Pinner suggests, tends to provide the best sport, but be ready to grab your rods quickly! During the warm weather the Carp can be caught off the top using floating baits, I had numerous fish out using this method.
On a couple of two day sessions down there I have had over 100lb of fish out consisting mainly of mid-upper doubles with a sprinkling of 20's thrown in for good measure. There are also the catfish that run to over 40lb! I have caught these on boilies meant for carp, so be prepared for something a little different!
Swim choice, to me, doesn't really matter too much as the fish are spread all round the lake. Obviously the "carpark" swims get hammered because you don't have to walk very far with your gear.
The biggest piece of advice I can give you is to spend plenty of time observing the fish, they are easy to watch in the clear water, this allows you to see how they react to your bait and you can also pick out their patrol routes. This will increase your catch rate.
Good luck and I will most probably see you down there this coming year!
