carp at willington

hi dose anyone know if the carp are still in willington after the flood there earlier this year as i understand the water level was up to halfway up to the kissing gate which means the water was well into the river at the lakes lowest point ie by the corner as you go round towards the lawns it would be a shame to fish it not knowing if they have gone down the river

Why not look at it the other way. How many new carp swam into the lake during the floods? Willington floods every year (it is what flood plains are designed to do) and the larger residents have always stayed put in the past.

There have been plenty of carp anglers fishing the lake since the floods, and they don't think they are wasting their time. They are the ones who know what has been caught in recent months.

Carpy123 if you still have any doubts, you may be interested in a recent article regarding the May capture of a carp from a 'Beds club lake' (i.e. following the floods earlier this year) by a Nash consultant.

http://www.nashtackle.co.uk/news.php?id=133

If you check 'news from the bank' on the main club web site you will know she was reported caught on two other occasions during May, as well as the large common.

Hopefully the Ouse will stay within its banks after the recent monsoon weather!

Probably not. . .anything other than a slight drizzle and the Ouse floods!

I have seen plenty of carp in Willington recently, including a couple of its larger residents and plenty around the 8-10lb mark!
