Re: clifton road bridge
Hi pinner.
liquidised bread in a cage feeder with flake hookbait should get you a chub or two. i've also had chub on lobs just below the bridge. trotting with mags usually takes plenty of roach & gudgeon if you feed afew mags every cast. i caught a 5lb chub on feeder fished mags at the end of the cricket field about 3 years ago. we also used to catch good roach & chub further down where the river straightens out but i havent fished down that for years cos i'm to lazy & old now !!

Re: clifton road bridge
well i fished clifton on saturday and only had a couple of bites! i missed the first one!! and connected with one later which turned out to be quite a large dace! which put up quite a scrap then as i got it on closer it was being chased by a little jack pike! but luckily enough i swung it out just in the nick of time and it went back unharmed.
quite a nice venue with lots of interesting swims just a bit of a shame i didnt connect with any of the chub!
there is always next time i supose!
