barbel sacked ??????
what a lovely pic on the main page of the web of 2 lovely barbel top catch but my only concern is did this lucky angler catch both these fish one after the other ?as to be able to have a great pic of 2 fish together or have these fish been sacked to get a pic in daylight ?it states that he was night fishing these r great fish an would hate for them to be damaged or worse killed by sacking barbel should not be kept in a keepnet or a sack an wonder why the person who allowed the pic tobe posted has not said any thing or any commitee members who have seen it ?

Re: barbel sacked ??????
Whilst I agree with your point about the barbel, don't assume that we have ALL done nothing as my friend has contacted one of the committee to point this out and has qestioned it.
I hope that this is not the case as I would of thought that an agler targeting barbel would hopefully know the impact of holding these fish for too long after capture.
The best method would be for the committee to ask the angler in question, rather than us to speculate.
Apart from matches or a potential new record, I do not agree with keeping/sacking fish purely for a picture. Whilst they are two lovely fish, the photo would of looked much better as 2 photos with the angler holiding the fish.
I do totally agree with your point about the forum being totally under used and whilst I am as much to blame. I think that all users should start to contribute more as it is a good way for other members to learn and to find out information.
Maybe we should start a new topic after every session to give other members an idea of what the venue is fishing like and any pointers. Maybe when membership is purchased, we should all provide an email address and also publicise the website and the forum wherever possible (membership book, posters in tackle shops and info at the waters).
