Re: Jake Piasecki Wheels
Hey James -
You beat me to it... here's my review of the Jake Wheels:
F#@$%*&!ING RAD!!!!!
They feel a little harder than the Poolside Favors... definitely would compare the initial feel to Bones SPF's, but after you roll around on them a little while... they are sooooo much better!
Not playing favorites, because I roll both types of wheels on different setups.
Put some Rock'n Ron's in 'em (either Steel or Ceramic) and you'll be set up right!
I think the biggest positive differences between the Jake wheels and Bones SPF's is the speed and traction... Jake's wheels feel twice as fast with twice the control... don't feel like I'm going to sketch out coming full speed out of double truckers like I do with the Bones SPF's... same thing coming out of airs (backside ollies over the hips)... when you land on these new Jake wheels, it's rock solid (no sketch) and full on speed right where you left off...
Highly recommend for pool/park riding... you can't go wrong and the price is right... especially with some of the $$$$ going to Jake to help pay his medical bills!
Get yo'self sum!

Re: Jake Piasecki Wheels
yep....what bucky said....they break away a bit easier than the Favors 60mm's-but have WAY better traction than SPF's for sure. I need something to depend on...

Re: Jake Piasecki Wheels
RAD!
You'll dig 'em, Bro'...
Give 'em some time to break in... especially if you put a new set of Ron's in 'em...
AZ parks are a little more gritty than other parks... all the sand storms, monsoons, sun, heat, etc... takes a while for the wheels and bearings to really get loose and fast... not sure if you'll experience the same thing, but just in case... fair warning...
Have FUN!

Re: Jake Piasecki Wheels
They look good, I was rolling the psfavors 63's, and then went to the 60 spf, and I am sorry, but I felt like I was accelerating and going just plain faster.. I really wanted to like the psf, but they are off right now. Grip on the spf is great, and I like the way they bark. I would be interested in of the new wheels for masonite though..

Re: Jake Piasecki Wheels
To each their own twid...BUT, Me and the bros team have extensively researched spf...and they are NOT faster...Favors 60's and 63's are faster than Bones cuz you can actually lay into them...instead of coasting with them...grip and speed my friend! SPF spelled pure disaster for me and my crew...so wutevas...

Re: Jake Piasecki Wheels
Yeah... I gotta say, the Jakes are my current faves. I have the PSF 63MM, a set of 60MM SPF's, the ****bird IPS, Grime Balls, and Black Fartz and right now the Jakes are my faves. They feel like old school wheels and engage and release the pool coping smoother than most of the others. Perfect amount of grip for me. Will stick when you're hauling ass over the water fall but will release exactly when you want 'em to. They are a bit heavier than the others (with the exception of the IPS), but that's to expected as they are wider. Seems to be the same urethane used for all of the above mentioned, except the SPF's. I think the Jakes are definitely the fastest if you're talking all things equal (Rock n' Rons steels in all, except the SPF's which have Bones Swiss. No noticable difference in speed but a big one in price).
I don't usually review products, but I really like these wheels. That's my two cents. The Jakes will rock your world... get 'em.

Re: Jake Piasecki Wheels
The wheels gripped really well on skatelite too. I rode a mini ramp today.
-later all you shredders of tile and coping
