Re: Truck set up for TS
Thanks for the tip DavO!
I find interesting that you want the rear truck dewedged and tighter.. hmmm. Are you saying the front truck is doing most of the work? meaning like a steering wheel of a car?? I'm taking these notes to the shop and start messing with the trucks...
Thanks, DanO~

Re: Truck set up for TS
Yep, what Davo sez -
Wedge the front and run it as loose as you can, dewedge the rear or some guys will run a big flat riser on the rear.
I use a SB/Khiro wedge riser against the deck and a 1/4" hard riser on top of that - works great for me with Indy's or Tracker RTS/RTX combo.
When I first started fooling around with slalom I asked tons of questions. Arab told me something that stuck with me - he said a properly set up slalom deck should ride like a forklift. Front end turns fast and the rear simply follows. Good advice.....
So get your wedge on and some harder bushings in the rear and you'll have a blast.
I wish I was better at slalom but at 47 I do good not to throw out my hip. Ha. Seriously, tweaking the set up is great fun and the payoff is in the ride.
Also, I gotta say, Skaterbuilt slalom decks are the ****! I've ridden pretty much everthing (PPS, Roe, Bahne, Fibreflex, Turner, etc.) but I love the feel of a wood deck, stiffer works better for me - nothin' beats a Skaterbuilt for that and the money you save on the deck can go towards upgrading your trucks or whatever.
I just set up a Maysey GS (Thanks Dave!) and it flat out rules!!!!
Have fun!!!!!!!!!
