Podium for Maysey in Central Cali!!!
Right on Mr' Mike! You still got it my brother...Maysey rode his signature GS model to a close 3rd behind gnarly downhiller Dave Rogers and Jason Mitchell...now, that there's a heavy top 3!!! You da' main man Mike-tell us how the road/hill conditions were and how your setup performed...thanks brother!
Pix to come!
Dave

Re: Podium for Maysey in Central Cali!!!
I guess I still got somethin'. I appreciate the kudos bro!! The road was pretty damn killer. Without the huge headwind we had, it would have probably been near 40mph. But with the wind, speeds were only about 30mph at the fastest part of the hill. The 8' start ramp was pretty damn kick ass. Johnny wants to bring it to the Pumpstation!!! This thing is so big, you could drop down it and have a RACE on flat ground!! There would be speed to make it a race fo'sho'.
The board works insane. While others were scrambling tweeking and taking tons of runs trying to figure out the turn, I took 3 practice runs and rested. My board is dialed!! I can't wait to get it on the Pumpstation with a good course and a good race to see the full potential. I finally found the right truck combo, the right truck tension, the right wheel...everything. This is random, but I just realized...now that I said all that, I'm gonna hae to change it. It's like that saying...when you're in the water, you don't ever say you'll catch just one more wave.
Anyway...it was a good day all in all. I'd love to see the format repeated on a hill that you didn't lose speed on. But, like I said before, the reason for the speed loss was the wind. It was kind of like a cross between slalom and downhill. Our runs were nearly 2 and a half minutes long. Talk about a burner!!!
That's about all I have to say about that right now.
