HERB SPITZER.....THIS IS B I G NEWS!!!!!
SBer's...my longtime surf/skate shaper-mentor HERB SPITZER now has his rightful place in surfing's history forever.
The latest issue of SURFING magazine list's HERB SPITZER directly after STEVE LIS (innovator of the fish) in their Surfing's Shaper Family Tree feature article.
This is HUGE! It hasn't even sunk in yet...it gives MASS validity to everything Herb and I have been doing together with fish designs for the last 15 years.
HERB is still WAAAAAAAAY ahead of the current surf industry by light years!!!He's did the cool Bat tail stuff and quads and swallows...before ANY of the BIG shapers.
And I ride and own the proof...I've got the boards HERB built for me..and they have the dates on em'...
I'm REALLY stoked for HERB-and hope you guys are too! This man has a LOT to do with what you see in modern surfing (and skateboarding) design. In case you didn't know HERB was the one who inspired me to make wide decks in the first place...in the early 90's...plus he's is one of THE first pool skaters of all time and was known as the "KING OF COMPTON" to all because he was IN and DOWN with the CRIPS and BLOODS-which gave him access to Compton pools back in the day....anyways, let's share some stoke for a Skaterbuilt Big Brother/Mentor!
