Al Merrick/C.I. surfboards?
hola Dave-O,
believe it or not...I'm gonna learn to surf up here
in the cold NorCal Pacific this winter!
I've been looking at boards(haven't bought one yet)
and wanted to know what you thought about
Al Merrick/Channel Island boards?

YOU CANNT GO WRONG ON A CI. Wheteher it's made in China and cookie-cut, or it's from the shop in SB-shaped by the Man himself......Channel Islands are really good boards and have set the current standard by which all others are measured in both construction and performance...BUT, Skaterbuilt Family members Herb Spitzer, Chris Shroeder, and Chas Wickwire make some of the raddest shapes around! These dudes do custom sickness beyond belief..

hey Dave-O,
If I was down in the southland I'd be sure to come
talk to "the boys". I'd much rather get a custom-
hand shaped board from someone who's been recommended, and who I've talked to. I believe strongly
in the "customer relationship" factor.
Surfing has been something I've wanted to do my whole
life, and my wife is practically kicking me out into the
water! 
I can't wait.
