Re: What got you interested in SG-1?
the movie was good wen i 1st saw it .... but in retrospect it just doesn't hold a candle to the series ... i think mainly 'cos the series goes so much deeper into the mysthology and history of it all ... but the movie was so much darker, and the go'auld were shown to be a lot different .... just before ra died he was shown as being a sort of energy type being

Re: What got you interested in SG-1?
Good call on how the show goes into more detail. The movie had great effects and everything but the show generally has better story line.
I noticed that too about RA. In retrospect, I just assumed that it was the true look of his aged host. Remember, his host was thousands of years old. The sarcophagus kept him healthy but maybe the young look was only an illusion. When RA knew he was about to die, his body lost its ability to maintain the illusion.
On the other hand, it could just be another flaw in the movie-TV series transition. I like the way they do it in the series better.

Re: What got you interested in SG-1?
yeh .... it's probably 1 of those effects that cost thema lot to do, and they couldn't reproduce on a greater scale or summat .... i like that theory on the true form of the aged host, it certainly would make for an interesting tie-in .... or maybe, if u've seen the alst of series 6, where anubis is actually 1 of the ancients who they tried to send back, HE is an energy being .... maybe Ra was like anubis, an ancient assuming the identity of a go'aould ..... hmmmm, just thought of that as i was typing, wot do u think ??

Re: What got you interested in SG-1?
I never thought of that! That would really bring everything together. Plus, we tend to assume that the Ancients are good, just because they're ancient and have weapons that could help defeat the Goa'uld, but maybe some of the Ancients aren't so good and would want to be like the Goa'uld...like what Anubis might have done.

Re: What got you interested in SG-1?
i'm sure the writers of the show have no idea that that was wot was shown in the 1st movie .... and that's just a theory of mine ... would be kool if they did tho, and were able to tie it in.
