Colonel Jack O'Neill
Commander of SG-1, pulled out of retirement to lead the first Stargate mission.
Colonel Jonathan "Jack" O'Neill is the commanding officer of SG-1, the primary unit assigned to the Stargate Command facility. An officer in the United States Air Force, O'Neill was pulled out of retirement and assigned to lead the first Stargate mission, to Abydos. His original mission was to look for signs of hostile life on Abydos and blow up the Stargate if he found any.
Instead, O'Neill helped to defeat Ra, the powerful Goa'uld System Lord who had enslaved the native people. He returned to Earth to retire again, only to be reactivated and sent back to Abydos. The SGC program was formed, and O'Neill became one of its leaders and strongest supporters.
Since then, Jack O'Neill has separated from his wife. His work is now his life, but he enjoys it. His wit, sarcasm and sense of humor help him make sense of it all, and his courage and tenacity help him make it through the next mission. He knows that at the end of the day, he could not be doing anything that is more important.
Here's your place to talk about my favorite comedian and clueless Leader of SG-1, Colonel Jack O'Neill!

Re: Colonel Jack O'Neill
One of my favorite episodes for Jack was "Learning Curve". He was so extremely passionate about Marin and the other children on Orban. I really like the scene in the school.
Since Jack had a son, I think he feels drawn to children and is able to get along with them well. He has a sort of "camaraderie" with them.
Jack can sure be tough, but he is also very caring and kind at heart.

Re: Colonel Jack O'Neill
I think Jack definitely has a soft spot in his heart for kids. From the bond that he shares with Scaara to the way he looked at his young self at the end of "Fragile Balance" you can see that he misses his son. I believe his tough outer appearance is meant to hide the hole in his heart that was left by his son.

Re: Colonel Jack O'Neill
What's so great about Jack is that despite his strong military background, he has such a love for children and dogs, which makes him a really balanced character. I really liked him in "Learning Curve" as well as the episode with Cassandra. Actually, in the Cassandra episode it seems that Jack and Sam would make great parents...but that's a whole other topic.
