Wonder Woman(missing scene)
Hi, I asked this couple years ago i think with no responce so maybe i'll be luckier this time. For anyone that is old enough to have seen the Wonder Woman series when it aired in the 70's i'm just looking to conferm something. In the episode (The starships are coming) i am pretty sure i remember towards the end when she flips the one car on its side, then throws a couple guys, then u see 2 little guys run out of that house there is a white van in that shot & u can see the right front tire off the van & on the ground. My question is did antbody else see the scene before that they have since cut out where Wonder Woman either ripped the tire off the van or she twisted the luge nuts off with her fingers then pulled the tire off ? If u know which way she did do it please let me know i forgot & would'nt it be great if someone actually has that on tape somewhere ?

Re: Wonder Woman(missing scene)
I remember when that episode first aired. What impressed me about it was when she hit a guy in the stomach and he flew backward into the overturned car. But I have no memory at all of her ripping a tire off. I do not believe when it first aired in the US, such a scene was broadcast. Of course, you are talking about 30+ years ago.

Re: Wonder Woman(missing scene)
Thanks for the responce. I do remember the scene only because when the show aired being in a family of 7 & having very little say in what we could watch on our only tv i only ever saw maybe 10 episodes & untill i was able to see reruns in the late 90's one of the few memory's of her strength scene's i had was that scene & then was disapointed to see it was left out.Strangly enough i had no memory of her lifting the car on its side so that was a nice surprise.

Re: Wonder Woman(missing scene)
I captured an image of the scene, and you're right, the vans tire is off and the vehicle is on the ground. There might have been a deleted scene of Wonder Woman ripping the tire off. Too bad they didn't air that, it would have been nice to see that. Or instead let the guys get in the van and see Wonder Woman stop the van with her hands grabbing it from the front and pushing it backwards while the tires burn trying to get a grip on the asfalt.
The show had too many opportunities to show WW using her superstrength, but they just focused on some other stuff. Like the scene with the tank in Anchluss 77, would have been better if they focused on the strain of the tank trying to push forward and being held back by Wonder Woman, and also, when the engine gave up covered in smoke, I don't know why she just didn't bend the barrel to totally ridicule the war machine.
Why was it so difficult? Right?

Re: Wonder Woman(missing scene)
I wish they would have shown her fighting more than having pure strength scenes. When you boil down the entire 3 or so seasons, the number of times she fought anyone where it was more than a single shove or throw was probably no more than 5 or 6 times. This episode was one of the few. One of my favorite scenes was when she was fighting on a dock (I think it was the episode where she was looking for or helping a man who thought he was a leprechaun?) and she faced a guy who knew martial arts and he punched her several times in the stomach to no avail.
What is really sad though is that Joss Whedon is no longer in charge of the Wonder Woman movie. Can you imagine what he would have done? (see the movie Serenity for an example of his work)

Re: Wonder Woman(missing scene)
Actually in the tank scene in Anshlus 77 i don't know how many times i watched that scene before i noticed after she overpowers the tank & jumps up on it she puts her foot on the hatch to stop a guy from opening it. Then looks at the big gun barrel. Then it cuts to a close up of her putting her hands on her hips. But if you look at the bottom of the screen when it cuts to that you can see that she is taking her hands off the gun barrel which is now bent. The music is constant so i'm pretty sure they never aired her bending it for some reason (^%$#).So its funny you brought that up cause thats another missing scene.I wonder what else got left on the cutting room floor ?

Re: Wonder Woman(missing scene)
Wow, you're right, she did bend the barrel of the tank. Why in the world was that scene deleted!!! In this capture you can clearly see the bent barrel like you described it. It only lasts for a second or so. So the secuence was, first she closes the hatch with her foot and then focuses on bending the gun barrel (cut). It would have been so good to see a whole picture of WW standing on top of the tank with her hands on her hips smiling, and the barrel twisted, not to mention seeing the scene watching her do it while the steel groaned and gave up to her power. I wonder if there's a way to retrieve the original tapes from CBS by request, or at least ask Lynda Carter what does she remember about that particular scene...

Re: Wonder Woman(missing scene)
Wow...nice catch on that... I never realized. Shame so many of these 'potential scenes' are never broadcast (Smallville infuriates me at times)....

Re: Wonder Woman(missing scene)
Wonder Woman show was such a waste in many aspects. Like every time Wonder Girl appeared, she seemed silly, and only used very little of her powers. Such a gorgeous and powerful looking girl she was, I wish they've made her bend handguns, rifles, and stop a few cars or trucks, at least lift them, but no, it seemed to much to ask for.

Re: Wonder Woman(missing scene)
I definetly would have also at the very least like to have seen a full shot of Wonder Woman standing on top of the tank with the barrel already bent only if for some reason they had trouble making her bending it look unrealistic.Maybe thats why they did'nt use the shot. And also in the Starships episode they should have did a full shot cause besides the other things mentioned you can also barely see a second car thats on its side when she throws that first midget over it.And at the end when she is talking to Steve Trever on the phone & mentions he should have seen Wonder Woman marching The leader & his cast of THOUSANDS ( which was really 20 or 30)into town. That was probly never shot but i would have loved to see Wonder Woman doing that & all those men knowing that together they don'nt stand a chance against her.But really i wish it was thousands. Thanks IFAN for mentioning Smallville i feel the same. But that might clear up for me why i saw that scene about Wonder Woman removing the tire & why maybe others did'nt & also why i did'nt remember an amazing part like her putting the car on its side.Smallville in the Maxima ep last year aired a preview like they always do for next weeks show & in that the scene of her lifting & throwing the car they used one take of her doing it one way & in the ep they used a differant take. So if you did'nt see the preview you only think theres one shot of that & also that Charmed preview where the girls are superhero's & there stoping a robbery. One girl lifts the crooks car with one hand but in the episode they never showed the lift but you can see the car being put down. And that made me think maybe i did'nt see the W.W Starship episode back in 79 but only the preview.By the way the more i think about it i'm more sure she twisted the lugs off & pulled the tire then just ripping it off but either way can you imagine how much strength & power is in just her fingers to do that.
