why don't all repairs go this well?
...took the CV joints off the golf to check them out, as i suspect they are wearing.
What shocked me was how easy the job was, none of the usual rounding-off of boltheads or things shearing off etc. Wow!
So why couldn't VW have used spline-head bolts on everything, all those fixings that give you grief every time???

Re: why don't all repairs go this well?
LOL - you obvioulsy have tried any 40 year old ones that have had the holes in the bolts filled with years & years of road grime & mud - then, when you push the spline drive in & try to undo it & it takes off all the splines from the inside of the bolt you are somewhat stuck !!
Sounds like you had a good job well done though
