I bought a new cab carpet without giving any thought to my inadequate fitting/diy.etc skills. Glue? how do i get it over th handbrake, feeling very disappointed at not being able to see the finished effect! Rubber seems to thick to fit into the lip . .

Cut a slot with a sharp knife?
Disconnect the handbrake & disassemble the top of the "handle" and slpi ot over the whole lot?
I assume you are fitting this ina Bay?
